New Music Releases

I need to catch yall up on some singles that have been released recently that you NEED to have in your rotation. First up, anything off the new ABC show Nashville!

There have been several singles released from the show namely “Telescope”, “Undermine”, “If I Didn’t Know Better”, and “Fade Into You”. “Telescope” was released twice, once as Hayden Panettiere’s version and once as Connie Britton’s character’s daughters. Personally I love the daughters version tremendously. Go download “Telescope” by Stella Lennon & Maisy Stella.

Next up, Tim McGraw’s latest single. He performed this on the CMAs last week and he just gets better you know? This song will be on his upcoming “Two Lanes of Freedom” album. Go have a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

And last but not least, Kelly Clarkson’s first official country single “Don’t Rush”. She too performed this on the CMAs, with Vince Gill who sings and plays on this song. When I first heard this song I thought, oh this sounds kinda like 80s country and well what do you know….Kelly said toTaste of Country Nights radio that she was going for a Crystal Gayle sound and that’s why folks I thought it sound 80s-ish. I love it, and I bet you do too!

New Music Releases

Two new albums out today by Jason Aldean and Jamey Johnson.

Jason Aldean’s Night Train is his fifth album and is definitely a southern rock album. This is Aldean’s follow up to My Kinda Party which was a huge success for him and basically put him on the map as a big time artist. You’ll find some familiar guys on “The Only Way I Know” when Aldean sings with Luke Bryan and Eric Church. Check that one out along with “1994″ and “Take a Little Ride”.

Jamey Johnson’s Living for a Song is a Tribute to Hank Cochran. This is Johnson’s follow up to The Guitar Song in 2010. We heard a little bit of Johnson’s love for Cochran on The Guitar Song with “Set ‘Em Up Joe”. Living for a Song has a lot of duets, so many that I can’t even list them all, though I’ll give you some highlights: George Strait, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack, Ray Price, Asleep at the Wheel and more! Definitely check out The Eagle, which is the duet with George Strait.

We’ve got two new releases this week by some BIG names!

First up, Vince Gill’s Guitar Slinger. Vince wrote or co-wrote every song on the album. Amy Grant even duets with him on the album which was recorded in their home studio.

These are my top picks from this album: Threaten Me With Heaven, Who Wouldn’t Fall In Love With You, True Love.

Second, we have Toby Keith’s Clancy’s Tavern. This is Keith’s 15th album and he wrote or cowrote 10 of the 11 songs on the album. There is definitely something for everyone on this album and for any mood you may be in. Uptempo fun songs along with slow thoughtful tunes.

These are my top picks from this album: Just Another Sundown, I Won’t Let You Down, Beers Ago.

Did you pick either of these albums up? What is your favorite release lately? Favorite song? Tell us! We want to know! I’ll go first, Martina McBride’s Whatcha Gonna Do has been on repeat for me since last week, however it may get bumped for Vince Gill’s True Love. Your turn!

New Music Releases

Well y’all there are no major albums coming out today but I do want to keep you up to speed with some new singles that have recently come out.

First up, The Scientist. This is Willie Nelson doing a cover of Coldplay! Chipotle Mexican Grill commissioned both a movie and Nelson’s performance to emphasize the importance of developing sustainable food systems. And seeing as how Willie Nelson is a founder of Farm Aid, you can see why he’d be involved. Great song, great cover. Go check it out.

The Scientist, Willie Nelson

Next is a new one by Vince Gill. It’s been quite a while since we heard Vince Gill! He’ll be coming out with a new album later this year in which his entire family can be heard somewhere on the album. This is his first single off that album and I think we can definitely say Vince Gill is BACK.

Threaten Me With Heaven, Vince Gill

Lastly, I’ve got some new Kenny Chesney for you. Rise Up is a new song available on iTunes that coincides with ESPN’s new show of the same name, Rise Up. The show visits ailing high school athletic facilities as they are given makeovers. Kinda cool, eh? And this seems to fit right in with Kenny Chesney’s love of football. Per the Chesney camp we probably won’t hear this song on the radio as it was just written as the theme song for the show, but like I said, it is available on iTunes for purchase.

Rise Up, Kenny Chesney

So will you be purchasing any of these, or have you already? I’ve actually been listening to The Scientist over the last week or so and am loving it. Time to purchase the new Vince song as well as check out Chesney’s song/show.
