We’ve got some new stuff out today! Kenny Chesney’s latest Life On A Rock is out today. If you are a fan of Kenny’s island life songs then this is sure to please. You’ll even get a duet with Willie Nelson thrown into the mix. Who can resist Willie! The must listens are: “When I See This Bar”, “Lindy”, “Happy On The Hey Now”.

Also out today is an album by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell called Love Has Come For You. It’s a folk album including Steve Martin’s banjo picking and Edie Brickell’s words and voice. As you can imagine with Edie Brickell’s vocals, it’s a very laid back sound but with the awesome Steve Martin banjo playing. Definitely check this one out.

Krystal-Keith-EP

An EP that you should be aware of is by Krystal Keith, daughter of none other than Toby Keith and folks she’s got a great voice! Looks like most people are buying “Daddy Dance With Me” on iTunes but I’m thinking I really like the song “Can’t Buy You Money”. I think it really showcases her voice.

I’d like to end this post with a nod to the great George Jones who left us too soon. I love so many of George Jones’ songs but the one that always gets me is “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. iTunes has a Remembering George Jones section up right now–go get lost in some of those songs.

Wear It: Hope On The Rocks

Have you seen Toby Keith’s latest video, Hope On The Rocks? Really love the song…it takes me back to the kind of songs he did on his first album. Check it out…

See what I mean about the song being reminiscent of his early days? That was a dang good album. So let’s discuss Toby’s outfit in this video, which by the way I love how he plays a character in this video. His outfit is just your every day normal casual outfit and yet it looks very put together. So let’s put one together via Langston’s!

Men’s Dickies Solid Short Sleeve Wicking Pocket Tee Shirt
Ariat Men’s M2 Relaxed Boot Cut Western Jeans – Smithy
Ferrini Men’s Teju Lizard 13″ Square Toe Cowboy Boots – Black
Justin Men’s Mossy Oak Camo Cap

So tell me, what do you think of Toby Keith’s latest video? More importantly would you WEAR IT?!

New Music Releases

Toby Keith has his newest album coming out today called Hope On The Rocks. Keith is known for his more upbeat songs and/or patriotic songs for sure, but I have always been a huge fan of his slow songs since back in the day of “He Ain’t Worth Missing”. Is there anybody with me on that? I mean I think he’s got a great voice for slow songs!

So anyway, let’s talk about the new album shall we? You may have already heard of the single “I Like Girls That Drink Beer”. A lot of the songs are definitely some good old beer drinking songs of which Toby Keith wrote or co-wrote, and he produced the album as well. From the get go I’m loving “Hope On the Rocks” and “Haven’t Had a Drink All Day” (which is a super fast paced fun song). In addition to the new songs he’s also added some remixes of songs we all know along with some live versions like “Whiskey Girl” and “Get Out of My Car” which are definite must listens, though that last one is NSFW.

So go have a listen!

You guys this has almost everybody you can think of…75 songs in all ranging from Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, and Little Big Town to Gene Autry, Elvis, and Merle Haggard!

I’ll go ahead and list off my favorite songs that you must listen to: A Baby Changes Everything by Faith Hill, Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton, Please Come Home for Christmas by Willie Nelson. And oh man, Christmas in Dixie by Alabama…that’ll definitely take you back.

So, do you bust out the Christmas music at the holidays? And if so, who are your favorites? I want to know!! I would love to add to MY ongoing list of holiday music. Next week I’ll share with you my all time favorite Christmas album.

New Music Releases

We’ve got two new releases this week by some BIG names!

First up, Vince Gill’s Guitar Slinger. Vince wrote or co-wrote every song on the album. Amy Grant even duets with him on the album which was recorded in their home studio.

These are my top picks from this album: Threaten Me With Heaven, Who Wouldn’t Fall In Love With You, True Love.

Second, we have Toby Keith’s Clancy’s Tavern. This is Keith’s 15th album and he wrote or cowrote 10 of the 11 songs on the album. There is definitely something for everyone on this album and for any mood you may be in. Uptempo fun songs along with slow thoughtful tunes.

These are my top picks from this album: Just Another Sundown, I Won’t Let You Down, Beers Ago.

Did you pick either of these albums up? What is your favorite release lately? Favorite song? Tell us! We want to know! I’ll go first, Martina McBride’s Whatcha Gonna Do has been on repeat for me since last week, however it may get bumped for Vince Gill’s True Love. Your turn!

Did y’all catch Martina McBride’s performance on Stand Up to Cancer last week? It was phenomenal! Looks like Lady Antebellum and Kris Kristofferson were added to the lineup last minute. You can catch their performance on You Tube, it’s definitely worth a listen.

Blake Shelton was also all over the late night shows last week, did any of you watch those? What did you think?

Appearances seem to be on the low end this week, probably because all the fall premieres start this week. But here’s what we have:

  • GAC takes you behind the scenes of Brad Paisley‘s H2O Tour. Brad also talks about how the flooding in Nashville destroyed most of their equipment right before the tour began. Brad Paisley Under Water airs on Tuesday, 9/21.
  • George Strait‘s Pure Country will be on CMT Wednesday, 9/22. You know you love it!
  • Stage Left with Keith Urban & Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy World Tour will be on GAC Wednesday, 9/22.  Keith Urban talks to Nan Kelley about the world tour as well as all his favorite guitars.
  • Toby Keith discusses his career on GAC’s Conversations from the Road: Toby Keith on Thursday, 9/23.

What will you be watching? I think the Brad Paisley interview regarding the flooding would be fascinating.
