I have a few more singles that yall need to check out. We’ll start with the King. I’m talking George Strait of course. He’s got a new single out called Give It All We Got. And damn he’s sexy, you know? He announced that this next tour will be his last, though that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop recording we just won’t get to see him much after this. I tell you what, keep on recording stuff like this George!!

Next up, Leann Rimes has a new single out and wow does it seem personal. It’s like an apology to her ex-husband. Kinda interesting to listen to something like this…you should check it out for sure.

 

 

 

 

And last, I want to fill you in on some songs from the tv shows out there! Cassadee Pope on Blake Shelton’s team on The Voice sang the hell out of Over You (Miranda Lambert’s song she co-wrote with Shelton about his brother who passed away). I believe Pope made it to #1 on iTunes for a while there…

Also, one of my favorites off Nashville that Connie Britton sings is called Buried Under. There are two versions on iTunes, you want this one for sure.

I know, I know…I said no recaps…but I am watching and I just can’t resist getting your thoughts!!! I am kind of glad that 2 Steel Girls lost out to Gracia. It’s not that I didn’t like them, I just like her more. She is adorable. I loved her pink frilly dress. She had matching boots, but in my mind she had these Johnny Ringo ones on instead. How cute would the turquoise/green of these been with that dress?

Casey was sent home. I think he will rock the bars in his area and have a good local career. If you liked his look, we have plenty of shirts similar to the one he wore. This Rockmount Men’s Vintage Floral Western Snap Shirt is great for on stage, but also great for a night out!

Collin was saved by Blake after leaving Team Adam. I think Adam made the right call, but I also think Blake did. I think this is a good place for Collin to be. He might need Blake as his voice coach, but I think he needs to look to Adam for fashion. Well worn jeans, boots and a classic tee are a great look for him and one that Adam often rocks. These Rambler boots by Ariat are one of my favorites and they would be great for Collin.

What were your thoughts? Any favorites so far? I am keeping mine to myself for now. Still trying to form my opinions!

Jordis!?!?

Ok, I am a bit behind her. Life took over and I missed The Voice last week. Again. So I am getting ready to watch tonight and was doing a bit of recap ready to get myself ready. And then I saw the name Jordis Unga. Wait…I know her. She was on Rockstar INXS and her version of Man Who Sold The World was amazing.

So I guess I know who my vote is going for. Well, I guess I need to watch her tonight and see how she has/has not changed, and how good the competition is…but I am very pleased to see her on the show. And…she is on Team Blake!!!

It looks like her look may have evolved from BoHo to rocker. I think these boots would suit her well. Pair them with jeggings, a black top and some big earrings for a more rock look…or wear them with a white peasant skirt for a more boho vibe.

Did you guys watch last night? I did. First up, how I did with my predictions. I had said the audience would pick Curtis and CeeLo would pick Nakia. I was 1/2 right. Audience picked Vicci, but my Nakia pick was correct.

On Adam I was sort of right and sort of not. The audience picked Javier, not Casey like I thought they would. Then Adam surprised himsewlf even and picked Casey over Jeff. I think he had thought the audience would save Casey and that he could save Jeff. Anyway…

Last night’s show didn’t have  a lot of country western fashion inspiration in it. Casey rocked boots and dresses all night again, and did it well. I have posted about this look each recap, so I will skip it this time. Blake of course had a classic western shirt on during rehearsals, this time opting for Blue and White checked.

Since there isn’t much western fashion I can pull from last night, I thought I would build on a quote from Cee Lo from the show. He said Black and White were the colors of the night, that they are “the color of business.” It wasn’t just his team, almost everyone was in black and white. So although I have no idea what “the color of business” really means, let’s go with it.

Aside from the fashion, there was of course the music. Team Blake is my favorite..

I think Dia and Xenia both are really interesting. There are other great singers in the group, but these two are different than everyone else out there. They are “new” to me. That said, I think Dia will stay and Xenia will be sent packing. I love how Blake looks like a proud pappa bear when anyone talks about his team. He has really taken them under his wing hasn’t he?

Team Adam…I’ll miss my girl Casey’s fashion…I think she will go home and Javier will stay. Assuming he keeps his hat off, I can be ok with that pick. He is so much better looking without the hat!!

Team CeeLo…this is a hard one. I think Vicci nailed it last night and I loved her studded top. She is my pick, but I think Nakia gave her a run for her money.

Last, Team Christina…I think Frenchie will move on. I am not in love with her. I think she still could have belted it out and gotten more into the song, but I think overall she took it from Beverly.

Team Cee Lo was this morning, now up…Team Adam. Also known as team “adorable old man sweaters.”

Casey. Miss Casey. I wasn’t a huge fan in the other shows, but she sold me tonight. She looked great. She sounded great. Well done. Win or lose on this show, we will see her again for sure. And she is ROCKING the sparkly dress with boots. Here is the group performance too…

I’m pretty sure she has studded brown ones in that first shot. Like these by Lane, Lane Boots Women’s ‘Stud Rocker’ Cowboy Boots – Brown

In the group shot she has some black ones. I can’t see them up close, but these, Lane Boots Women’s ‘Wild Ginger’ Cowboy Boots – Black, would look great with a sparkly dress…

And I know she wasn’t wearing a white sun dress…but if she owns one, she should get these, Corral Women’s Cowboy Boots with Silver Star Underlay – Black, to pair with it.

Next up was Devon. I was kind of 50/50 on him. If you follow us on Twitter you read my confusion. I was half entertained by him and half uncomfortable. I just didn’t know how to feel. One thing that was said after his performance, by Adam, was that he waned stripped down performances to juxtapose Cee Lo’s big stage shows. I agree..this is The Voice, I like that Adam’s team was all about the vocals and not as mush the spectacle.

Jeff did a great job with the Carrie Underwood song. And he was rocking black boots, which is always a plus. We have lots of black boots, but these, Tony Lama Men’s 3R 11″ Black Shoulder Grain Cowboy Boots – Black Baron Calf, are a hard to top classic. Kind of like his performance…strong, no frills, solid.

Javier was last up. I am 90% sure he was wearing a Dickie’s shirt during rehearsals. If not, it was very similar. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, everyone should own one. As far as his performance – I thought he nailed it. And that brings me to predictions….

Casey is in. I think the audience will pick her. If they don’t, Adam will. Either way, she is in. If the audience does pick Casey, I think Adam will save Jeff. Or Javier. Not Devon. Ok…I have to nail down a guess…here…

A recap of sorts…

I thought Christina looked amazing last night…well, except that mini braid that was opposite the main braid in her hair. Not sure what was up with that. And if you looked at Cee Lo’s jacket too long your eyes hurt. I was crushing on Adam’s old man sweaters in the rehearsal scene and house scene. Too cute.

Let’s start with the winners from last week…I am 3/4 on predictions. I knew Frenchie and Beverly would make it on, and I hoped that Dia would. I thought Xenia was going home for sure. I got that one wrong. I think Blake made a great choice. He can work with her and help her. I am excited to see her develop more.

Ok. Team Cee Lo…

Tori and Taylor. I thought they looked cute and sounded fine, but it was such a staged performance it was hard to really listen to them. They were fine. Good. But not really a stand out.  One of them…Taylor? Tori? Sorry, no idea who. Anyway…in rehearsal she rocked jeggings and boots. You know I love this look.

Did you see the great Fluer de is necklace Vicci wore? I loved it. Fluer de Lis belong anywhere! As far as her performance, strong. I enjoyed it. Not sure where she sits on my predictions…I have until the end of this post to decide.

Nakia. Really? Dancers with flames? Two different kinds of flame twirling things? Cee Lo really loves to produce a show. He sounded great, lots of emotion, lots of strength – but I was blinded by the fire. I was more mesmerized by the fire than him. If the fire hadn’t been there, I think I would have focused on him more. I guess I am easily distracted. I think he was wearing red shoes? Maybe I am remembering that wrong. Anyway, that song, the fire…he should have had these bad boys on…

I thought Curtis is great. I think he is great. I think he has all the makings of a start…but…I think he holds back. And I think he is too worried about staying country and needs to allow himself to let go and branch out. His “country” comes through and will still come through, even if he rocks out.

Predictions: Audience will pick Curtis. Cee Lo will save Nakia. How’s that for specific? I didn’t talk about the group performance…I mean really….do I need to. It was a hot mess. A good, fun, hot mess.

I’ll post about Team Adam later today…predictions and all.

I am all settled in from the move, there were no storms last night, so I was ready and able to watch The Voice.

Adam’s team was up first – Jeff and Casey.

For the performance Jeff was in Black Boots and a denim jacket. I think it was a good look on him. Simple and sleek…and his voice shinned through.

Casey wore black shiny leggings…no, we don’t carry those. But for a similar look, try these denim jeggings by Levi’s.

By the way…I loved her Jacket. She was good, and I think she could be great. It seemed like she was singing kind of outside of her range? Maybe she should be more pop? But what do I know. Jeff took it and he was the clear choice.

Blake’s team was next. Speaking of Blake, I know this is not exactly like the one he was wearing last night, but it totally looks like a “Blake” shirt to me…

As far as his team. Xenia and Sara. Sara told Blake and Reba that she needed more attitude and asked how to get it…how about these? Some studded boots will help add some kick to anyone’s step.

As far as the performances….wow. Just wow. I’m sorry but they were both bad. Did you see the judges? Christina looked like she was going to cry she was so upset for them, Blake looked shocked, Cee Lo looked confused. Adam suggested that maybe it was a bad song choice and I kind of agree. But I also think they should have just gone for it. Even if it was out of their range they should have belted it out and at least gave it their all. They both held back since they couldn’t hit the notes. Anyway, it was bad. Xenia won.

Christina’s team was up next. You can’t see it in any pics, but I am pretty sure Cherie was wearing boots over jeggings in the rehersal. I think brown with turquois in them, like these Sorrel Apache ones by Justin.

I have to ask about the hoodie thing that Lily wore in the performance. It was like a hoodie shrug with a clip on the back that connected to her pants. Huh? I did not get it at all. But she did great. I kind of thought Cherie was stronger but I see why they picked her. Her overall stage presence and voice could make a good combo. Plus, it sounds like Cherie will be just fine as a song writer…already has a number one she helped write!!? Wow.

Cee Lo’s team was up last.

For the performance she rocked a classic pin up look and he broke out a classic black felt hat, here is one we carry by Master Hatters.

And what about the kiss???

Do you think that was real? I mean, I know it was real. And I know she was crushing on him and I think that crush made her song sounds great and filled with emotion. But I do kind of wonder if he did the kiss just for stage presence. Not 100% faked or anything, I think it was real and with emotion, but I think he also has his eye on the prize. 

Anyway….what did you think!!?!?

Did you guys watch The Voice last night? I missed it!!!!! We are moving and our cable wasn’t set up yet. I was going to get up and watch online today, but I’m still waiting on the guy to come set up our Internet. Help me!!! Give me the scoop?!? Who did you like? Who was a let down? The promos show one was ‘too close to call’…what happened? And most important, what were they wearing and/or should have been wearing?!?? Help me out! Fill me in. I’ll be back recalling next week I promise!
