Wear It: Highway Don’t Care

If you haven’t already checked out Tim McGraw’s new video Highway Don’t Care featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban you really should. And you should show it to all your teenage kids. Like this video should be a requirement. Why you ask? Because of the message: Don’t TEXT and DRIVE! So I feel like it’s important to pass this video along in anyway we can whether it’s through this hear blog or however we can. Check out the video now…

Tough subject, tough video to watch. Let’s lighten things up a bit and talk about Tim’s outfit that he’s wearing on his way into the hospital. Very professional look he’s got going there, yet casual. Business casual! So here’s how you can put that look together on your own with the help of Langston’s.

Tim McGraw has a new album today. You probably already knew that from all the various interviews he’s done lately along with his cover on People magazine. I’m totally not complaining, I mean the guy is easy on the eyes for sure so I’m up for whatever publicity he wants to do! The new album is called Two Lanes of Freedom. So far you’ve probably already heard Truck Yeah on the radio along with One of Those Nights. Just as a reminder, this is his first album for Big Machine Records since leaving Curb Records who he was with for 20 years. In my mind, the most anticipated song for me off this album is the duet with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban called Highway Don’t Care. In all actuality, I don’t think you could go wrong with a Tim McGraw album…heck I’m still listening to his last one, Emotional Traffic (much to my husband’s dismay). Tim puts out good music, plain and simple. Go check this one out for sure!

New Music Releases

Lots of singles have been released that you need to know about! I touched on a couple of Taylor Swift’s singles that have been released, but let me tell you about a few more. These are off her upcoming Red album: Begin Again, Red, and I Knew You Were Trouble. Out of the three, the one that I can’t seem to get out of my head is Red. Have a listen, you’ll see what I mean. However, what’s intriguing is that Taylor says I Knew You Were Trouble is one of her favorites off the album. So there’s that.

Gary Allen has a new single out called Every Storm (Runs out of Rain). Gary never disappoints, he’s got a great voice and puts out great songs.

Brad Paisley came out with a new single called Southern Comfort Zone. This song has a great message, you should definitely give it a listen.

American Heart is a new single out by Faith Hill. I’ve been waiting a long time for some new stuff by Faith Hill. Word is, her upcoming album has a soul sound and I think she does soul awesomely. I can’t wait!

HUGE release today y’all! Little Big Town’s Tornado comes out, which includes Pontoon-one of my summer favorites. I have been waiting for this album for sure as I have all the Little Big Town albums already.

This album has a different producer this time around and thus has a different sound, though still great harmonies. As with every Little Big Town album you hear everyone in the group lead different songs, which I totally love.

Next to “Pontoon”, my favorite off the album is “Sober”. “Sober” was co-written by Lori McKenna who you may remember was a big part of Faith Hill’s Fireflies album penning four of the songs on the album. Other must listens are “Your Side of the Bed”, “Tornado”, and “Night Owl”.

Another new release I’d like to mention is Taylor Swift’s contribution to Stand Up for Cancer. She performed a song she wrote about a 4 year old little boy named Ronan that lost his battle with cancer. It’s a fantastic, emotional song and all proceeds go towards cancer research.

Wear It: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

I told y’all about Taylor Swift’s latest single a few weeks ago and she just recently released the video for it. It’s a super quirky, fun video. Lot’s of outfit changes and some woodland creatures thrown in the mix as well?! Taylor sports lots of classic and feminine outfits throughout the video, which was shot in 1 take (after they messed up 17 times). Kinda crazy huh? Check it out:

Isn’t it a fun video? I totally think the video goes hand in hand with the humor of the song itself. Don’t you love all of Taylor’s outfits throughout? Today I’m going to hook you up with a couple of options that match Taylor’s classic, feminine style.

Roper Women’s Short Sleeve Gauze Babydoll Dress
Ariat Women’s Delaney Floral Chiffon Top – Multi
Miss Me Women’s Cuffed Denim Capri with Feather Cross Embroidery
Mystree Women’s Eyelet Style Embroidered Dress

Any of these outfits would definitely fit right in don’t you think? She wears lots of florals and lots of dresses. Done and done!

Just wanted to keep y’all up to speed on some singles that have been released recently. First up, Tim McGraw’s Truck Yeah from his upcoming next album on Big Machine Records. Definitely a fun song, one that Tim pulls off perfectly. Next up, Sarah Darling’s Home to Me. If you loved Sarah’s Blackbird that we told you about recently on a Wear It post, then you’ll love this single. Definitely go have a listen to this one.And last, I’d like to fill you in on Darius Rucker’s True Believers. A love song that will make you love Darius Rucker even more. Go check this single out and you’ll see why Darius is a star.So what else are you guys listening to? I’m definitely full force listening to last week’s release by Radney Foster. Still in my rotation is Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away. My 3 year old is full force stuck on Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. He and I both know the words by heart.

New Music Releases

Let me fill y’all in on the new releases that happened over the last couple of weeks as well as what is coming out this week.

Gloriana came out with A Thousand Miles Left Behind and it is a truly good album. It’s their first since becoming a trio and has the smash hit (Kissed You) Good Night on it. You’ll also want to listen to the acoustic version of Wild at Heart along with Can’t Shake You and Where My Heart Belongs.

Joey + Rory came out with His and Hers. As I told you a while back there is a tearjerker of a song on there called When I’m Gone and it’s definitely still one of my favs from this album. You should also check out Waiting For Someone and Cryin’ Smile.

David Nail came out with an album of three songs called 1979. Of the three is his absolutely extraordinary cover of Adele’s Someone Like You. It literally gives me chills. Definitely check that one out.

And last but not least, Taylor Swift announced yesterday that she has a new album entitled Red coming out on October 22 and released her latest single We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together.

New Music Releases

Love and Theft have a new self-titled album out today. If you haven’t heard of Love and Theft, they are a duo made up of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson. They have a single out right now called “Angel Eyes” and it’s currently in the Top 10 on country radio. In regards to their new album this is what they’ve said:

“This record represents the way we sound live,” says Stephen. Eric adds, “You get the warmth and the emotion of the players vibing together in the room. We feel like we have made the record we’ve always wanted to make and we can’t wait to find out what people think about it.”

These guys sound great together and have opened for a ton of big names like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, and Jason Aldean. Definitely my favorites upon first listen are Amen, Town Drunk, If You Ever Get Lonely.

Go check them out!

I know what you are thinking, John Mayer? Country? Well we do know that he tends to reinvent himself with each album, from pop to blues… This is more of an alt country-ish album. If you tend to like Ryan Adams’ type of country, you’ll definitely like John Mayer’s version. While this album can get a little soft rock-ish, more of it has a country, acoustic guitar sound to it.

Much of the album seems to be Mayer’s attempt to work through a few rough years where he pretty much became unlikeable. I gotta admit, I haven’t been fond of him as of late, after reading several interviews he did over the last few years. However, as you listen to this album, you see him coming to grips with all this and learn something from all of this.

I’m sure most of you remember Taylor Swift’s song “Dear John” which was widely believed to be about John Mayer? Well, John Mayer has a song on this album, “Shadow Days” that has been rumored to be the response to Swift. You should definitely check that song out, it’s one of the better ones on the album.

Also check out, “Queen of California” and “Speak for Me”. Go have a listen, let me know what you think!

Wear It: Safe & Sound

In keeping with the Hunger Games news this week, I thought I’d feature Taylor Swift’s Safe & Sound video today. I’m not really used to seeing Taylor in the almost nothing makeup and simple attire. Don’t get me wrong, she looks gorgeous in this video, I’m just not used to seeing her this way and it’s a nice change of pace. Go check the video out first…

See what I mean? She looks beautiful! I thought I’d work up a Langston’s style outfit that keeps in the same theme as Taylor’s look. What I picked today is a cream colored top and bleached out jeans. I added the long sweater for two reasons, it keeps with the same look as Taylor in her long dress and also, dude looks like she’s cold in that video and could use a sweater! RIGHT?!

Lucky Brand Women’s Safi Embroidered Peasant Top
Cruel Girl Jeans – Kelsey SLIM FIT Jean -Bleach Stonewash
Lucky Brand Women’s Indio Crochet Wrap Sweater

So what do you think? And are you hitting up the premiere of The Hunger Games this weekend?
