New Music Releases

Back in 2001, Pat Green in conjunction with Cory Morrow put out an album called Songs We Wish We’d Written. It was a collection of all kinds of songs that meant something to them. Now in 2012, Pat Green green is doing the second edition of the album, minus the collaboration with Cory Morrow. It’s called Songs We Wish We’d Written II, it comes out today and you don’t want to miss it.

Let me just throw out some writers of some of the tracks on this album to name a few: Tom Petty, Collective Soul’s Ed Roland, Walt Wilkins, Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett, Shelby Lynne. I’m telling you, it’s good stuff. Now, while Cory Morrow didn’t collaborate on the album as a whole, he does help out with one of the songs as do Monte Montgomery and Jack Ingram.

After taking a listen, my favorites would have to be All Just to Get to You, Jesus On a Greyhound, and Soulshine. Soulshine has got a definite bluesy vibe that I’m absolutely loving.

What else are y’all listening to?

Wear It: All Just To Get To You

Do you know Pat Green? He started out in Texas and was part of the whole “Texas Country” revolution…there are a lot of great “Texas Country” artists you should get to know…Charlie Robison, Roger Creager, Cory Morrow, etc. So anyway, Pat Green has a new album coming out called Songs We’d Wish We’d Written II. It’s a follow-up to his collaboration with Cory Morrow (fantastic album by the way, you should check it out). So when I saw the first single/video had come out for the follow-up I most definitely wanted to feature it here on the blog.

Let’s check out the video first…you’ll notice Pat Green has a very easy style…mainly a button up shirt with rolled up sleeves and jeans. A couple of times I’ve seen him in concert he’s performed barefoot…

So let’s get to the outfit, shall we?
