Christmas Duets

I thought I’d throw out some duets that you might not know about that involved some of your favorite country artists. The reason you may not know about these are because they are duets with artists from different genres.

First up duets you may or not know about with some country favs comes off the Elvis Presley Christmas Duets album that came out in 2008. You will find many familiar names on this album for example Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Wynonna Judd and many more.

The next one I have for you is Justin Bieber and The Band Perry! They did a duet on Bieber’s Christmas album out last year. The duet is called “Home This Christmas”. Though an unlikely pair their voices really do blend well, you should definitely have a listen.

And last, the Jessica Simpson song “Merry Christmas, Baby” featuring Willie Nelson is a keeper for sure. You absolutely must add that to your holiday playlist.

So who else are you listening to this holiday season?

Holiday Music

Are y’all ready to get in the holiday spirit! I would love to share some of my favorite country Christmas albums with you to get your playlist started. Here goes…probably my first favorite Christmas album is from King George.
George Strait’s Merry Christmas Strait to You NEVER gets old for me. Dig that out of the archives folks and re-listen, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

My next most played Christmas album is by Lee Ann Womack. A Season for Romance is a great bluesy country Christmas album. My favorite track is the title track although there is a fun duet with Harry Connick Jr that you might want to have a listen to.

You can never go wrong with a Martina McBride Christmas album. This is has some of the classics that she does best.

And last but not least, one of my favorite singers ever, Faith Hill. Her first Christmas single was “Where Are You Christmas” off the Grinch soundtrack. She followed that up with a whole album entitled Joy to the World. Probably the most famous song off this album is “A Baby Changes Everything”. Definitely a must listen.

What are your favorite Christmas albums to listen to each year?

Wear It: Bruises

Train and Ashley Monroe teamed up for a fantastic new song called “Bruises”. This is immediately going on my playlist and the video is just as a fantastic. Check it out:

Isn’t it just a great song/message/video? Train has been doing stuff with Martina McBride lately, so it’s nice to see them team up with Pistol Annies own Ashley Monroe. Ashley’s outfit in the video is just perfect in terms of casual chic. I’m going to help you recreate her outfit via Langston’s.

Lucky Brand Women’s Jasmine Lace Cutout Top – White
Lucky Brand Women’s Lil Maggie Flare Jeans – Ol’ Folklore
Corral Women’s Eagle Stitched Distressed Crackle Saddle Boots – Tan
Lucky Brand Women’s Silver Collar Metal Necklace

Don’t you just love the everyday wearability of her outfit? I mean it’s comfy yet elegant looking. As for the men, you can definitely all pull off Pat Monahan’s layered look by putting a basic tee under a button up, pair that with some jeans and some Dingo Harness boots and you are set!

New Music Releases

Back in October Martina McBride released Eleven, her latest album and we told you about it! I gotta say, this has been my favorite album of hers in a long time, maybe ever. I haven’t taken this out of my rotation and am still loving Whatcha Gonna Do, which by the way she has recently said is one of her favorites to perform in concert.

Two weeks ago, Martina released a four new bonus tracks to Eleven: Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You, and You’re In My House Now. They are perfect additions to Eleven and by far my favorite is Closing Time but I’m definitely a sucker for a bluesy country song. McBride herself co-wrote two of the bonus songs, Ask The Boy and You’re In My House Now.

So tell me, are you still listening to some Martina McBride Eleven? If so, what’s been your favorite track? Will you be buying these bonus tracks? Definitely give them a listen!

New Music Releases

I’ve got several albums to tell you about today. A couple that came out last week and a couple coming out today.

First up, Martina McBride’s Eleven. I have to admit, I pre-ordered this folks. I’m a fan. I bought Teenage Daughters as a single and just honestly couldn’t wait for the album to come out. My favorite song that I have on repeat from the album is Whatcha Gonna Do. Love it. This album has sort of a bluesy vibe to it and I’m loving it.

Next, Lauren Alaina’s Wildflower. This is also a release that came out last week. If you’ll recall, Lauren Alaina is one of the finalists on American Idol last season. You’ll want to check out Like My Mother Does and Dirt Road Prayer on this one.

Shelby Lynne’s Revelation Road is coming out today. I’m a big fan of Shelby Lynne. She’s got a fantastic voice and has a rebel attitude about her music. I’m always excited to check out her new stuff. Check out The Thief and I Don’t Need a Reason to Cry off this one.

Last we have Montgomery Gentry’s Rebels On The Run. I Like Those People, Missing You, and So Called Life are definitely some to listen to off this album. Sounds like Montgomery Gentry have had a rough year with a cancer diagnosis and divorce, so let’s give them some love shall we?

What are y’all listening to?
