I thought I’d throw out some duets that you might not know about that involved some of your favorite country artists. The reason you may not know about these are because they are duets with artists from different genres.

First up duets you may or not know about with some country favs comes off the Elvis Presley Christmas Duets album that came out in 2008. You will find many familiar names on this album for example Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Wynonna Judd and many more.

The next one I have for you is Justin Bieber and The Band Perry! They did a duet on Bieber’s Christmas album out last year. The duet is called “Home This Christmas”. Though an unlikely pair their voices really do blend well, you should definitely have a listen.

And last, the Jessica Simpson song “Merry Christmas, Baby” featuring Willie Nelson is a keeper for sure. You absolutely must add that to your holiday playlist.

Wear It: Tornado

If you haven’t checked out the new Little Big Town video “Tornado” you simply must. It’s an eerie type of scene…check it out…pay close attention to Karen Fairchild’s outfit because that’s what I want to spotlight for you here today.

Whoever did the clothing and makeup for this video did an insanely good job, in my opinion. Everyone in the band looks great, especially the girls. I do believe this is the first time I’ve seen Kimberly Schlapman with straight-ish hair! But let’s move on to Fairchild’s outfit. The fur look is very trendy right now and we’ve got it right here at Langston’s!

Wear It: Can’t Go Back (Unplugged)

Little Big Town did an Unplugged set for cmt.com and man, this one: Can’t Go Back is a definite listen. Not only is a great performance but everyone’s outfits are to die for! Since I’ve been focusing on women lately on the Wear It series I’m going to highlight Jimi Westbrook’s outfit. Check out the video first:

Doesn’t everyone look fantastic? Jimi’s outfit is something every guy can most definitely pull off easily. So here’s how we’d do it the Langston’s way.

HUGE release today y’all! Little Big Town’s Tornado comes out, which includes Pontoon-one of my summer favorites. I have been waiting for this album for sure as I have all the Little Big Town albums already.

This album has a different producer this time around and thus has a different sound, though still great harmonies. As with every Little Big Town album you hear everyone in the group lead different songs, which I totally love.

Next to “Pontoon”, my favorite off the album is “Sober”. “Sober” was co-written by Lori McKenna who you may remember was a big part of Faith Hill’s Fireflies album penning four of the songs on the album. Other must listens are “Your Side of the Bed”, “Tornado”, and “Night Owl”.

Another new release I’d like to mention is Taylor Swift’s contribution to Stand Up for Cancer. She performed a song she wrote about a 4 year old little boy named Ronan that lost his battle with cancer. It’s a fantastic, emotional song and all proceeds go towards cancer research.

Wear It: Pontoon

Have you heard Little Big Town’s latest single, Pontoon? Well let me just say, it’s the PERFECT summer song, so you MUST MUST MUST check it out. They also released a video for it, premiering it on People.com. If you watch closely Blake Shelton is in the video, see if you can find him.

See what I mean about the perfect summer song? Man, I’ve probably listened to this song about 30 times over the last few days. I just love it. So let’s talk fashion in this video, shall we? I’m definitely loving all things summer they are wearing. So I’m not going to try and copy and exact outfit, rather I’m going to try and give you an overall feel for the video in general. Here’s a guy’s version (a serape tee and shorts) and a girl’s version (layering tanks and jean shorts).

Lionel Richie comes out with a new album today called Tuskegee. It’s all his biggest hits made into duets with our favorite country singers. I’m going to give you thirteen reasons to buy this album: Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Jennifer Nettles, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Billy Currington, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffett. You guys this album is AWESOME! And if you don’t like Lionel Richie songs, you are a damn liar! At least go listen to some snippets on iTunes.

You Are (w/Blake Shelton), Stuck On You (w/Darius Rucker, Sail On (w/Tim McGraw), and Hello (w/ Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles) are my favs for sure, right off the bat. And Hello even gave me goosebumps!

Also, on iTunes there is a sneak peek you can watch of the “making of” the album. Please go watch this, it shows a snippet of Blake Shelton being pure Blake Shelton. Gotta love it!

From now until Christmas I’m going to be hooking you up with some fabulous country Christmas music every Tuesday! Let’s get started with an awesome mix of all the best: iTunes Essentials Country Christmas. You guys this has almost everybody you can think of…75 songs in all ranging from Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, and Little Big Town to Gene Autry, Elvis, and Merle Haggard!

I’ll go ahead and list off my favorite songs that you must listen to: A Baby Changes Everything by Faith Hill, Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton, Please Come Home for Christmas by Willie Nelson. And oh man, Christmas in Dixie by Alabama…that’ll definitely take you back.

So, do you bust out the Christmas music at the holidays? And if so, who are your favorites? I want to know!! I would love to add to MY ongoing list of holiday music. Next week I’ll share with you my all time favorite Christmas album.
