Tim McGraw has a new album today. You probably already knew that from all the various interviews he’s done lately along with his cover on People magazine. I’m totally not complaining, I mean the guy is easy on the eyes for sure so I’m up for whatever publicity he wants to do! The new album is called Two Lanes of Freedom. So far you’ve probably already heard Truck Yeah on the radio along with One of Those Nights. Just as a reminder, this is his first album for Big Machine Records since leaving Curb Records who he was with for 20 years. In my mind, the most anticipated song for me off this album is the duet with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban called Highway Don’t Care. In all actuality, I don’t think you could go wrong with a Tim McGraw album…heck I’m still listening to his last one, Emotional Traffic (much to my husband’s dismay). Tim puts out good music, plain and simple. Go check this one out for sure!

I grew up listening to Don Williams. Tulsa Time? It Must Be Love? Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good? Come on, that’s the good stuff I tell you! So when I heard that he had a new song out AND a video I had to hear/watch it. Bonus points: Keith Urban plays and sings along With Don!

I think Don’s look hasn’t changed much since the good old days and yet it is so not out of style! Anyone can totally pull off this look. Here’s how you can do it the Langston’s way!

Wade Bowen has a new album coming out today called “The Given”. If you haven’t heard of Wade Bowen before he’s a Texas Country artist, trying to follow in the footsteps of how Eli Young Band broke through from the Texas country circuit to the big time. This is Bowen’s sixth studio album and was produced by Justin Niebank who has produced Keith Urban. Not only can Bowen sing but he’s a songwriter as well and wrote or co-wrote 9 of the 10 songs on this album.

All That’s Left, Saturday Night, Beat Me Down were definitely the highlights for me on this album. To Live Is To Fly is also a duet with Guy Clark, so you should definitely check that one out as well.

What else are you listening to these days? Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away is still in rotation for me and probably will be for a while. How bout y’all?

If you haven’t heard, Keith Urban has a song off the Act of Valor soundtrack and it’s called For You. I thought I’d showcase it here because it has a great message, I love Keith Urban and also because I think he’s got great style. First, let’s check out the video.

We did a Wear It a while back featuring a different Keith Urban song and it’s very much the same outfit however that one was great for Fall/Winter and this one is great for Spring/Summer. So here’s how I’d do the Keith Urban uniform, if you will, the Langston’s way.

The soundtrack for the movie comes out today and it is made up of ALL country artists: Keith Urban, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Jake Owen, Trace Adkins, Lori McKenna, Montgomery Gentry, Josh Kelly, Hunter Hayes, and Wynonna Judd. Fabulous lineup wouldn’t you say?

From first listen, they all sound awesome! My top three picks are “For You” by Keith Urban, “The Best I Can” by Jake Owen, “Two Soldiers Coming Home” by Lori McKenna and “Whatever Brings You Back” by Wynonna Judd.

Hi! My name is Michelle and I am a new blogger for my friend’s here at Langston’s. I may be an urban planner in the city these days, but don’t let that fool ya. I am a country girl through and through. I still have my southern drawl, pepper my sentences with y’all and listen to country music.

One of my favorite country artists is none other than Keith Urban. My mom and I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 2009 and Friday night we attended his concert in Charlotte, NC. The best part about the concert (well, besides Keith himself) was definitely the people watching. Cowboy boots are a necessity for any country music concert and this one was no exception.   • GAC presents Conversations from the Road 2001: Keith Urban on Sunday 6/26.
  • Steel Magnolia perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, 6/27.
  • Conan has a performance by Gillian Welch on Tuesday, 6/28.
  • Rumor has it Miranda Lambert will make an appearance on The Voice this week–look for it either Tuesday, 6/28 or Wednesday, 6/29.
  • Marty Stuart performs on The Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday, 6/29.

2011 CMT Music Video Awards

Did y’all check out the 2011 CMT Music Video Awards last night? It was on at our house! They will be replaying it over and over I’m sure, so you definitely need to check out one of the best parts of the show, the intro with Taylor Swift and Shania Twain as “Thelma & Louise”.  It was funny and fantastic and I need to watch it again!

My favorite performances were by Sugarland who sang “Stand Up” a song that will benefit tornado relief in Missouri and Alabama, so go download it today!  And also Keith Urban just because well he’s KEITH URBAN. ha! If you’ve never had a chance to see Keith Urban live, these awards show performances give you a small taste of what a fantastic show he puts on.  And my final favorite performance was Lady Antebellum’s cover of the Prince song “Kiss”.  It was totally unexpected and I loved it!

My only disappointments were that Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson’s duet didn’t win for Collaborative Video of the Year.  They lost out to Justin Bieber & Rascal Flatts.  I guess Bieber Fever took over that category.

I was stunned when Shania Twain slipped and fell during her entrance to present the Male Video of the Year award.  I couldn’t believe my eyes and felt so bad for her!  For having been out of the spotlight for so long and to slide right in like that…quite an entrance!

Congrats to the big winners Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift.  I feel like they have all worked very hard and are finally getting some much deserved recognition.  What do you guys think?
