Wash and Wear

We’ve covered dressing room tips and a guide to pockets…last up are some care tips provided by the Ultimate Denim Guide in the August 2010 Style Watch issue of People.

Don’t wash too often!! Wear them 3-5 times between washing. Sweet….my laundry pile was just cut in half!!

Be Gentle – turn your jeans inside out and wash in cold water with a color guard detergent. I always forget to wash in cold, but turning them inside out does help a bunch. That is one trick I try and always remember.

Hang to dry – If you can do this, more power to you. It really will help your jeans last…but I just can’t. Mine are drier bound. If you dry like I do, using the lowest heat will help to keep them from fading too, too fast.

Do not dry clean – this guide says that the chemicals can weaken the fabric over time. Good to know!

So there you have it. Great denim care tips and tricks.

Pick Pocket

Monday I shared with you the dressing room tips from People Magazine’s Ultimate Denim Guide. Today let’s chat about pockets.

Flap pockets add material and bulk and therefore are great for those wishing to increase their backside mass.  Low pockets also increase the size illusion by pulling your eyes down.

High pockets draw your eyes up and therefore create the illusion of lift. To make your hips seem fuller, try pockets that are wide set.

No pocket styles leave it all uncovered….so it is you and no illusion!

Friday I’ll share with you their care tips so your jeans stay looking sharp.
