Vendor Spotlight – Dan Post

Did you know that Dan Post encompass more than just that one brand? Under the Dan Post umbrella you will also find John Deere and Dingo.

Dan Post was founded in the mid 60s. Their website touts that their boots are crafted to be comfortable from day one…and they are! I love the simple and classic feel of their boots. They are traditional and easy to wear and style.

This Men’s Franklin 11″ Cowboy Boot tops my list of men’s boots for sure.

John Deere is also under the Dan Post brand. The boots in this brand are every bit as reliable and rugged as the machinery by the same name. The Men’s lace up and pull on boots will carry you through any job…and the kid’s boots? Have you ever seen anything this cute?

Dingo also fall under Dan Post. I think in the dictionary right next to James Dean they might have a picture of these Harness Boots. They just ooze cool.

Dingo was added to their line up in the mid 70s and has been strong ever since. Ankle boots were hot last year and look to be on trend for this year too. Dingo has us covered. These Twisted Sister ones are my favorite.

Keeping Warm

I am a huge fan of the vest. You can be warm, but not over heat. It is the perfect compromise. I love mine and wear it all the time. I also think it is quite a handsome look on a gent. Don’t you agree? Picture this…

Ok now picture it on Luke Bryan….

See? What did I tell you? HOT.

What I wore…

For today, I am going to limit this to my boots. I will show you my selection of jeans and tops another day! Ok…so boots. I have 5 pairs of boots, plus some.

Ariat Shada 10″ Cowboy Boot – This is my newest boot. I love the shorter height. I pair it with chunky knit socks and wear them over leggings and jeggings. I also like wearing them under boot cut jeans. The shorter shaft makes them really comfortable and they rub less on my calves than some other boots. I have to name these the most versatile boot in my closet.

Dan Post Maria 13″ Boot -Mine are many years old – so this link is not exact, but close. Mine are Dan Post. They are my only black boots and my first pair. I don’t wear them as much anymore, but being that they were my first, they will always hold a place in my heart!

Corral Women’s Stitched Boots – Desert Red – Who knew red could be so versatile?!? I love these. They are probably my #2 boot as far as how often I wear them.

Lane Boots – Old Mexico – These are fun for so many reasons. They are great in Spring and Summer with a white skirt or dress. Very Boho hippie in a way that I love. And they are Thunder colors so I can wear them to OKC Thunder games in the Fall and Winter and show the team some love.

Dan Post Women’s Taylor 12″ Boot – I wear my tall brown ones much the same ways as I do my short ones – over jeggings, under boot cut jeans – these go with anything and everything.

Not pictured…

Minnetonka Moccasin Knee High Fringe Boots – These are for those days you need comfortable sassy…I pair them with a cozy white sweater and black leggings. Comfort with attitude.

Minnetonka Moccasin Thunderbird Beaded Moc – I just got my first pair of Moc and am wearing them today. Talk about comfort! And the beading gives just the right amount of detail. I like these with jeans and a plain white or black tee.

Yea…ok….so I have a bit of a shoe problem. This doesn’t even take into account my heels and ballet flats!

Employee Picks

Back by popular demand…our employee picks.

Up this week is Sarah.

Sarah said that she chose this necklace  because “it’s so cute! I love the different charms and the pink and silver tone.” Cindy Smith necklaces range from simple and everyday to beautiful statement pieces like this one. This Silver Tone and Pink Chain Cross Charm Necklace comes in a set with matching earrings.

Sarah choose this Southern Thread T-shirt, “because of the color and the design on the front and back.” Personally, I think the slight rip in this shirt gives it a unique edge to it.

As far as her jean pick, “I like the fit and color of these jeans, super comfortable.” The Sofia Jean by Lucky Brand is a bot cut jean with a low rise and a relaxed fit. The color, Ol Oak, is perfect for Fall.

When asked about the boots, Sarah said, “the boot is just a basic black to bring out the black in the shirt.” Her pick was the Mistie by Dan Post. It is a 13″ black boot that goes with almost anything and everything.
