I’m sure by now you all have seen Carrie Underwood’s Two Black Cadillacs video that came out a couple of weeks ago right? It’s like a little mini movie! In case you haven’t seen it, it gives a little nod to Stephen King’s Christine at the end. And Carrie did in fact get King’s blessing for that! Check it out here and then we’ll discuss the duds she’s wearing.
Pretty awesome right?! I definitely think the video goes great with the song. Let’s talk about how to recreate our own Underwood inspired funeral attire shall we? First what we need are some snazzy boots (high or low boots will work, we just went with these studded ones). check! Next we need a high-low dress line. check! And last we need some sort of floofy neckline. check!
I thought I’d throw out some duets that you might not know about that involved some of your favorite country artists. The reason you may not know about these are because they are duets with artists from different genres.
First up duets you may or not know about with some country favs comes off the Elvis Presley Christmas Duets album that came out in 2008. You will find many familiar names on this album for example Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Wynonna Judd and many more.
The next one I have for you is Justin Bieber and The Band Perry! They did a duet on Bieber’s Christmas album out last year. The duet is called “Home This Christmas”. Though an unlikely pair their voices really do blend well, you should definitely have a listen.
And last, the Jessica Simpson song “Merry Christmas, Baby” featuring Willie Nelson is a keeper for sure. You absolutely must add that to your holiday playlist.
So who else are you listening to this holiday season?
Have you seen the latest Carrie Underwood video, Blown Away? It’s seriously movie-like. It’s Carrie Underwood’s version of The Wizard of Oz…yellow brick road and all! Check it out:
Ok, I do agree the video is a bit of a downer, but at the same time it’s stunning visually. As always Carrie’s style is right on target, from her cute sundress at the beginning of the video to the shirt and jeans she wears the rest of the time. I couldn’t love her shirt and jeans outfit more. The gingham shirt, the vest, the skinny jeans and boots. Let’s do this the Langston’s way, shall we?
Today Carrie Underwood’s fourth album Blown Away comes out. “Good Girl”, “Blown Away”, and “Two Black Cadillacs” are definitely the stand outs to me. She’s got a lot of statement songs on here. Her first single off the album, “Good Girl”, was co-written by Carrie herself. In fact, eight of the fourteen songs were co-written by Carrie, including “Two Black Cadillacs”. In “Cupid’s Got a Shotgun”, Brad Paisley does a little guitar work for Carrie. The last song on the album, “Who You Are”, was written by Shania Twain’s ex, Mutt Lange. “Forever Changed” is a song about Alzheimer’s.
It’s a very powerful album, and just what you can expect from Carrie Underwood. She never fails to impress, go check it out for sure.
Had you previewed this album already? It was live streaming last week on iTunes, as a special treat! If so, tell me what your favorite off the album is so far.
No new albums today but there is a new song that is out today that you MUST MUST MUST listen to. It’s called Changed by Rascal Flatts. It’s definitely goose bump material. I’m not sure what else to say about it, it’s really good. If this is a sign of things to come from Rascal Flatts, I’m on board. So go check that one out.
I also want to tell y’all about a couple of albums that you can pre-order on iTunes right now, which I have ALREADY pre-ordered myself. The first of which is Blown Away by Carrie Underwood. This album comes out May 1st and Good Girl is the current single from this album.
The second album you should know about is Welcome to the Fishbowl by Kenny Chesney. This album comes out June 19th and you can currently preview his duet with Tim McGraw (his upcoming tour mate) called Feel Like a Rock Star. It’s good stuff, Kenny Chesney never lets us down.
Have y’all seen Carrie Underwood’s new video Good Girl? I love the song and the video is super fun with all the outfit changes. She does a little good girl vs bad girl routine in the song. Check it out:
See what I mean? Lots of outfit changes and I can’t decide which ones I like better, the good girl or the bad girl stuff. But she definitely rocks both looks, amirite? So I decided to just go with a bad girl look. I mean wouldn’t you???? So here’s a bad girl look, the Langstons’s way…
No new albums this week but I do want you to know about two new singles that you MUST check out. First up, Carrie Underwood’s first single off her new album that will be out in May. It’s called Good Girl and let me tell you it’s GOOD!! It’s a must listen to, so go download it now!
The next single you should listen to is the new single from Lionel Richie, which is actually a duet with none other than Willie Nelson. The song should definitely be familiar to you, it’s called Easy. Man, this song with these voices…definitely perfection. Go get it today.
I can’t wait for the new Carrie Underwood in May. What are you listening to these days? I’ve also been listening to some old stuff from Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks and a greatest hits of Willie Nelson. What are you most looking forward to? Any old stuff I should re-listen to?

Today’s release might be one that you would have missed had you not come to this here blog today…Tony Bennett has a new album out today called Duets II. On this album he does the following duets with some of our favorite country artists:
Blue Velvet with k.d. lang
On the Sunny Side of the Street with Willie Nelson
The Way You Look Tonight with Faith Hill
It Had to Be You with Carrie Underwood
For me it’s always a treat to hear my favorite singers perform some of the old songs we all know and love. One of my absolute favorites is The Way You Look Tonight, so I’m thrilled that Tony Bennett decided to pair up with Faith Hill for this one.
Keeping company with these country artists on this album are some well knowns such as John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Andrea Bocelli, Lady GaGa….just to name a few. Will you be checking this album out?
There are not a lot of appearances/performances this week but the one we do have is definitely a must see!!
