Guest Blog #1

This week at Langstonsblog.com, we’re instituting what we hope will become a regular feature – the Guest Blogger. Along with our efforts to bring you news about great new products, promotional items, and local events, we’re also trying to get some perspective on the world of western wear and its devotees.

Our first guest blogger is a great example. As a Professional Bullfighter, Paul Bonds has taken more than his share of lumps. But it’s worth it, in Paul’s words, to be able to “live a childhood dream” every day of his career.

Paul has fought in some of the biggest rodeos in the U.S., Canada, and Italy, and regularly participates in rodeos put on by the PBR, IPRA, and PRCA. He’s fought in the National High School Finals, the PCB Finals, and has fought in the International Finals Rodeo five times.

For our first guest blog, Paul was kind enough to send us his first entry, which you can read above.

Dickies Bullfighters to Join Top Bullriders at Langston’s

As I mentioned yesterday, we’ll be having an autograph signing event at our Stockyards store to coincide with this year’s Cophenhagen Bull Riding Challenger Tour Championship presented by Dickies at the Ford Center. Well, we just got word that Dickies will be providing us with some bullfighters as well. These are the guys that bravely put themselves in between the bull and the rider when the ride is over.

Of course, this may change due to injuries, but right now scheduled to appear are Frank Newsom, Joe Baumgartner, and Shorty Gorham. So, come by on Saturday, February 16th from 11am to 1pm and meet these men of steel. Meanwhile, check out some of Joe’s work during the 2008 Built Ford Tough championship round in Sacramento:
