The September issue of Distinctly Oklahoma has Blake Shelton on the cover. He is a true Okie at heart and proudly, he is still an Oklahoma resident. He and fiance Miranda Lambert call Tishomingo, Oklahoma home base. It’s nice to see a native stay at home and grounded amid all the success and travel. The article even says that when at home they visit local beer joints….hum…I guess my next bar crawl will be in Tishomingo!

Ok, I seem to have a slight addiction to People Magazine folks. Last week was all about the Style Watch issue….and this week it’s the Country Special. The cover is none other than Oklahoma native Toby Keith. The article talks about his ranch just outside Norman, Oklahoma, his daughter singing on his next album, coaching his son’s football team, raising horses and tons more. If you are a fan if his, this is a must read.
Toby is quoted as saying that his favorite meal is the chicken fried steak sandwich from Del Rancho. That isn’t the only Oklahoma food reference in the issue, another article about BBQ lists Blue Pig BBQ in Ardmore, Ok as Blake Shelton’s favorite.
