Keeping Warm

I am a huge fan of the vest. You can be warm, but not over heat. It is the perfect compromise. I love mine and wear it all the time. I also think it is quite a handsome look on a gent. Don’t you agree? Picture this…

Ok now picture it on Luke Bryan….

See? What did I tell you? HOT.

Worn in

I love it when a boot looks worn in. When on day one it already looks like your favorite boot that you have been wearing for ages. It gives that classic, not trying to hard kind of look.

This distressed  boot by Stetson totally fits the bill. This boot gives off that classic, cool feel. The tough guy who tears up when his dog dies type feel. I like it paired with jeans, a plain tee and a button down worn open. Sleeves rolled up would complete the look for me.

Style Watch

A few things in this month’s People Style Watch caught my eye…

Plaid shirts. Tim Gunn recommends them over skinny jeans to avoid a “sloppy” look. I agree, if the shirt is oversized and you are wearing it open over a tank as shown in the mag…skinny jeans is the way to go. But, if you are wearing a more fitted plaid shirt, I think it works over any cut of jean. Check out or collection of long sleeve shirts.

This Brooks and Dunn by Panhandle Slim Long Sleeve Western Plaid Snap Shirt is one of my favs.

The mag also had a blurb about denim on denim. Tim Gunn’s main point was to consider fit…and I agree. But I also think color is a main factor. He was ok with a dark on dark look where as I am not. I think matching denim ends up looking kind of off. I think it is better to have contrast…a light paired with a dark.

I’d pair thisLucky Brand Women’s Long Sleeve Palomino Denim Shirt – Freeway Wash with darker jeans like these Ariat Women’s Turquoise Slim Fit Mid Rise Boot Cut Jeans – Moonshadow.

A Fall look that was featured on Sarah Jessica Parker was skinny jeans with low boots. These Dingo Women’s Adobe Rose 7″ Boots with Side Zipper are available in light or dark brown. Pair them with skinny jeans to recreate the look.

The last look that caught my eye was denim jackets with furry collars and linings. They showed Kate Bosworth rocking one. I’ll pass on the $242 version one they showed in favor of this Dickies Women’s Sherpa Lined Denim Jacket for $54.97.

What do you think? Are these looks headed into your closet for Fall?

Employee Pick – week 17

Up this week is Renee. She says,  ”my outfit is for a casual summer days or nights.”

“This shirt is great for a summer, day or night, its super thin to keep you cool also looks great with a tank top underneath!” It comes in 6 colors – so you can wear it almost all week long!

The cropped boyfriend fit of these jeans, paired with the destruction on the front of the legs, makes them casual, but the nail head and rhine stud accents make them anything but ordinary! Made of 100% cotton, they give you a comfortable fit with a laid back feel.  ”I really love these jeans, always liked the worn and had for years look!”

These  flip flops made by Justin feature a fancy design on the sole, three rhinestone conchos, calf hair, with smaller rhinestones and rhinestud accents on the straps. Renee exclaims… ”Its time for flip flops, let the feet breath again!”
