As a HUGE Radney Foster fan, I feel compelled to tell you about Del Rio, Texas Revisited: Unplugged and Lonesome. If you aren’t familiar with Radney Foster, let me give you a little background. Foster was part of a Grammy award winning duo called Foster & Lloyd. When they dissolved their duo, Foster’s debut solo album was called Del Rio, TX 1959. This album was an homage to his hometown and produced 4 top 40 hits. You may have heard of those: “Just Call Me Lonesome,” “Nobody Wins,” “Easier Said Than Done” and “Hammer and Nails.”

It has now been 20 years since that release and he’s rereleasing the album acoustically. I mean that might be the best news ever! The only way to make greatness greater is to redo it acoustically!

Listen to these: “Easier Said Than Done”, “Nobody Wins”, “Went For A Ride”.

What else are y’all listening to? If you are struggling with what to listen to, definitely take my advice and listen to this one!

Let me fill y’all in on the new releases that happened over the last couple of weeks as well as what is coming out this week.

Gloriana came out with A Thousand Miles Left Behind and it is a truly good album. It’s their first since becoming a trio and has the smash hit (Kissed You) Good Night on it. You’ll also want to listen to the acoustic version of Wild at Heart along with Can’t Shake You and Where My Heart Belongs.

Joey + Rory came out with His and Hers. As I told you a while back there is a tearjerker of a song on there called When I’m Gone and it’s definitely still one of my favs from this album. You should also check out Waiting For Someone and Cryin’ Smile.

David Nail came out with an album of three songs called 1979. Of the three is his absolutely extraordinary cover of Adele’s Someone Like You. It literally gives me chills. Definitely check that one out.

And last but not least, Taylor Swift announced yesterday that she has a new album entitled Red coming out on October 22 and released her latest single We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together.

Love and Theft have a new self-titled album out today. If you haven’t heard of Love and Theft, they are a duo made up of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson. They have a single out right now called “Angel Eyes” and it’s currently in the Top 10 on country radio. In regards to their new album this is what they’ve said:

“This record represents the way we sound live,” says Stephen. Eric adds, “You get the warmth and the emotion of the players vibing together in the room. We feel like we have made the record we’ve always wanted to make and we can’t wait to find out what people think about it.”

These guys sound great together and have opened for a ton of big names like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, and Jason Aldean. Definitely my favorites upon first listen are Amen, Town Drunk, If You Ever Get Lonely.

Go check them out!

Back in October Martina McBride released Eleven, her latest album and we told you about it! I gotta say, this has been my favorite album of hers in a long time, maybe ever. I haven’t taken this out of my rotation and am still loving Whatcha Gonna Do, which by the way she has recently said is one of her favorites to perform in concert.

Two weeks ago, Martina released a four new bonus tracks to Eleven: Ask The Boy, Closing Time, I Give It To You, and You’re In My House Now. They are perfect additions to Eleven and by far my favorite is Closing Time but I’m definitely a sucker for a bluesy country song. McBride herself co-wrote two of the bonus songs, Ask The Boy and You’re In My House Now.

So tell me, are you still listening to some Martina McBride Eleven? If so, what’s been your favorite track? Will you be buying these bonus tracks? Definitely give them a listen!

Zac Brown Band has a new album coming out today and you are definitely in for a treat. Uncaged is Zac Brown Band’s third album and I’ll call it very eclectic. Zac Brown describes this record as a “country-Southern rock-bluegrass-reggae-jam record”. After listening to it, I’d definitely say it’s all over the map, but it just works, you know? Zac co-wrote 10 of the 11 songs, one of which was co-written with Jason Mraz. Pure and simple, if you are Zac Brown Band fans, you’ll just love this album, it’s got a little something for everyone and for every mood you could be in.

My favorites on first listen are Island Song, The Wind and my hands down favorite on the album is Lance’s Song (which is a tribute to Lance Tilton, an Atlanta based drummer that was friends with the band).

So what are y’all listening to? Will you be buying this album?

Chris Cagle has a new album out today called Back in the Saddle. This is Cagle’s first album since 2008 and his fifth studio album. He worked with Keith Stegall (Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson) on this album and cowrote or wrote 5 of the songs off this album including Southern Girl, Something That Wild, Dance Baby, Dance, Now I know What Mama Meant, and his next single, Let There Be Cowgirls.

Something That Wild, Let There Be Cowgirls, Dance Baby Dance, and Probably Just Time are some of my instant favorites from the album. Got My Country On is his current single off the album and is already a hit, which is a good sign for the rest of the album.

If you are a country-rock fan, you’ll love this Cagle album.

What else are you listening to? I’ve still been listening to Welcome to the Fishbowl by Kenny Chesney. Are there any albums coming up that you are anticipating?

Kenny Chesney’s new album Welcome to the Fishbowl came out yesterday. I’ve been listening to it, because of course I bought it…pre-ordered it actually. I’m a big Kenny Chesney fan, have most, if not all, of his albums and have seen him in concert. I’d say, if you like Kenny Chesney, you will like this album. It has that same sort of sad, searching, yet mature sound that his last album had with a few rockin’ songs thrown in. He co-wrote three of the songs, one of which is Welcome to the Fishbowl itself. A pleasant surprise was his rendition of El Cerrito Place, which I knew from Charlie Robison.

Definitely listen to Feel Like a Rockstar, El Cerrito Place, and Always Gonna Be You.

An added bonus to buying the album is you get video of a live performance of You and Tequila with Grace Potter that ends with the ENTIRE audience singing word for word the chorus VERY clearly. I always love when that happens.

Are you a Kenny Chesney fan? Did you get the album? Do you have any favorite songs yet?

Today Josh Turner’s Punching Bag comes out! This is Turner’s 5th studio album and his latest single, Time is Love is on the charts already.

Josh Turner wrote or co-wrote 8 of the 11 songs on the album. The cool thing about that is that he built a cabin on his property specifically to go to to write songs and he in fact wrote those from this album there. This is what he had to say about that:

“I spent two years building my writer’s cottage. Once it was finished I was immediately in there writing songs. In total, I’ve written 27 songs in there and eight of those ended up on the record,” says Josh. “My hero and friend, John Anderson, was sitting across the table from me one day when we were writing and said, ‘What will really be a great day is when the songs you write here end up paying for this place!’”

Pretty cool huh? So anyway, these are the songs that captured my attention immediately: Find Me a Baby, Pallbearer, and I Was There.

What are you listening to these days?

Alan Jackson’s latest album, Thirty Miles West, comes out today. This is his first release from his own label after being with Arista the rest of his career. If you love Alan Jackson, this album won’t let you down in the least. Classic Alan Jackson style is what you will get with this album.

You Go Your Way, She Don’t Get High, and his current single So You Don’t Have to Love Me Anymore are definitely my top picks. There’s also Dixie Highway featuring Zac Brown that you might want to check out as well.

Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter have new releases out today as well that you might want to go have a listen to. Next week we’ve got a few new releases for you that are exciting. So tell us, what are you listening to now? Will you be checking out Alan Jackson’s new album? I will!

Wade Bowen has a new album coming out today called “The Given”. If you haven’t heard of Wade Bowen before he’s a Texas Country artist, trying to follow in the footsteps of how Eli Young Band broke through from the Texas country circuit to the big time. This is Bowen’s sixth studio album and was produced by Justin Niebank who has produced Keith Urban. Not only can Bowen sing but he’s a songwriter as well and wrote or co-wrote 9 of the 10 songs on this album.

All That’s Left, Saturday Night, Beat Me Down were definitely the highlights for me on this album. To Live Is To Fly is also a duet with Guy Clark, so you should definitely check that one out as well.

What else are you listening to these days? Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away is still in rotation for me and probably will be for a while. How bout y’all?
