New Music Releases

I have a few more singles that yall need to check out. We’ll start with the King. I’m talking George Strait of course. He’s got a new single out called Give It All We Got. And damn he’s sexy, you know? He announced that this next tour will be his last, though that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop recording we just won’t get to see him much after this. I tell you what, keep on recording stuff like this George!!

Next up, Leann Rimes has a new single out and wow does it seem personal. It’s like an apology to her ex-husband. Kinda interesting to listen to something like this…you should check it out for sure.

And last, I want to fill you in on some songs from the tv shows out there! Cassadee Pope on Blake Shelton’s team on The Voice sang the hell out of Over You (Miranda Lambert’s song she co-wrote with Shelton about his brother who passed away). I believe Pope made it to #1 on iTunes for a while there…

Also, one of my favorites off Nashville that Connie Britton sings is called Buried Under. There are two versions on iTunes, you want this one for sure.

So what are you listening to these days?

New Music Releases

I have a few more new singles you need to check out! In addition to all the Nashville releases that are being released after each episode, we have a single by Sheryl Crow.

“Woman in the White House” is definitely a fun song and a portion of the proceeds go to the American Red Cross.

The release of Christina Aguilera’s latest album, Lotus, has a duet with her fellow The Voice judge Blake Shelton. It’s called “Just a Fool” and it is definitely a must listen! Go out there and download that one for sure!

And last but not least, The Band Perry has a new single out called “Better Dig Two”. It is an awesome song–very Miranda Lambert-esque if you will.

So there you have the latest and greatest…tell me what you are listening to these days. I’m still listening to Carrie Underwood’s latest album. Did yall happen to catch her Unplugged on tv? She did a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” and it was pretty amazing!

New Music Releases

I need to catch yall up on some singles that have been released recently that you NEED to have in your rotation. First up, anything off the new ABC show Nashville!

There have been several singles released from the show namely “Telescope”, “Undermine”, “If I Didn’t Know Better”, and “Fade Into You”. “Telescope” was released twice, once as Hayden Panettiere’s version and once as Connie Britton’s character’s daughters. Personally I love the daughters version tremendously. Go download “Telescope” by Stella Lennon & Maisy Stella.

Next up, Tim McGraw’s latest single. He performed this on the CMAs last week and he just gets better you know? This song will be on his upcoming “Two Lanes of Freedom” album. Go have a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

And last but not least, Kelly Clarkson’s first official country single “Don’t Rush”. She too performed this on the CMAs, with Vince Gill who sings and plays on this song. When I first heard this song I thought, oh this sounds kinda like 80s country and well what do you know….Kelly said toTaste of Country Nights radio that she was going for a Crystal Gayle sound and that’s why folks I thought it sound 80s-ish. I love it, and I bet you do too!

Toby Keith has his newest album coming out today called Hope On The Rocks. Keith is known for his more upbeat songs and/or patriotic songs for sure, but I have always been a huge fan of his slow songs since back in the day of “He Ain’t Worth Missing”. Is there anybody with me on that? I mean I think he’s got a great voice for slow songs!

So anyway, let’s talk about the new album shall we? You may have already heard of the single “I Like Girls That Drink Beer”. A lot of the songs are definitely some good old beer drinking songs of which Toby Keith wrote or co-wrote, and he produced the album as well. From the get go I’m loving “Hope On the Rocks” and “Haven’t Had a Drink All Day” (which is a super fast paced fun song). In addition to the new songs he’s also added some remixes of songs we all know along with some live versions like “Whiskey Girl” and “Get Out of My Car” which are definite must listens, though that last one is NSFW.

So go have a listen!

Two new albums out today by Jason Aldean and Jamey Johnson.

Jason Aldean’s Night Train is his fifth album and is definitely a southern rock album. This is Aldean’s follow up to My Kinda Party which was a huge success for him and basically put him on the map as a big time artist. You’ll find some familiar guys on “The Only Way I Know” when Aldean sings with Luke Bryan and Eric Church. Check that one out along with “1994″ and “Take a Little Ride”.

Jamey Johnson’s Living for a Song is a Tribute to Hank Cochran. This is Johnson’s follow up to The Guitar Song in 2010. We heard a little bit of Johnson’s love for Cochran on The Guitar Song with “Set ‘Em Up Joe”. Living for a Song has a lot of duets, so many that I can’t even list them all, though I’ll give you some highlights: George Strait, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Lee Ann Womack, Ray Price, Asleep at the Wheel and more! Definitely check out The Eagle, which is the duet with George Strait.

Lots of singles have been released that you need to know about! I touched on a couple of Taylor Swift’s singles that have been released, but let me tell you about a few more. These are off her upcoming Red album: Begin Again, Red, and I Knew You Were Trouble. Out of the three, the one that I can’t seem to get out of my head is Red. Have a listen, you’ll see what I mean. However, what’s intriguing is that Taylor says I Knew You Were Trouble is one of her favorites off the album. So there’s that.

Gary Allen has a new single out called Every Storm (Runs out of Rain). Gary never disappoints, he’s got a great voice and puts out great songs.

Brad Paisley came out with a new single called Southern Comfort Zone. This song has a great message, you should definitely give it a listen.

American Heart is a new single out by Faith Hill. I’ve been waiting a long time for some new stuff by Faith Hill. Word is, her upcoming album has a soul sound and I think she does soul awesomely. I can’t wait!

Blake Shelton’s highly anticipated Christmas album comes out today. It’s called Cheers, It’s Christmas. This album has tons of classics and also duets. You can count on duets with his wife Miranda Lambert, her band Pistol Annies, Reba McEntire, Xenia, and Trypta-Phunk. He also reworks Michael Buble’s Home with a holiday feel and sings it as a duet. And in addition to all those duets, Shelton also sings with his very own mother on “Time For Me To Come Home”.

I pre-ordered this album y’all. We are definitely Blake Shelton fans here at Langston’s if you haven’t caught on to that yet. I’m also a huge fan of holiday music! I always start listening right after Thanksgiving, so I’m glad to have this in my arsenal!

I’ll leave you with this quote that I read via the Las Vegas Review-Journal regarding Shelton’s love for Christmas music:

…he’s a sucker for most Christmas tunes, “even the ones I don’t even know what they mean,” he said.

“There’s one on Anne Murray’s Christmas album, ‘Christmas In Killarney.’ I don’t even know where in the hell Killarney is, but it puts me in the damn Christmas mood. I listen to that one a lot.”

Three releases are coming out today. Dwight Yoakum’s 3 Pears is the first.
This is Yoakum’s first album since 2007. It’s a great album. These are my must listens: “Take Hold of My Hand”, “It’s Never Alright”, “Dim Lights, Thick Smoke”.

Next up is Easton Corbin’s All Over The Road. This is Corbin’s second album, his first being self-titled and producing such hits as “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It”. These are my must listens off this traditional country album: “All Over the Road,” “Lovin’ You Is Fun,” “That’s Gonna Leave a Memory”.

And last on the list of new albums today, the latest from Big & Rich. Hillbilly Jedi is the first album in five years for Big & Rich while they each pursued solo albums during that time. This is definitely fun album with some ballads thrown in for good measure. You should definitely check out: “Party Like Cowboyz” and “Lay It All on Me”.

So what will you be listening to today?

HUGE release today y’all! Little Big Town’s Tornado comes out, which includes Pontoon-one of my summer favorites. I have been waiting for this album for sure as I have all the Little Big Town albums already.

This album has a different producer this time around and thus has a different sound, though still great harmonies. As with every Little Big Town album you hear everyone in the group lead different songs, which I totally love.

Next to “Pontoon”, my favorite off the album is “Sober”. “Sober” was co-written by Lori McKenna who you may remember was a big part of Faith Hill’s Fireflies album penning four of the songs on the album. Other must listens are “Your Side of the Bed”, “Tornado”, and “Night Owl”.

Another new release I’d like to mention is Taylor Swift’s contribution to Stand Up for Cancer. She performed a song she wrote about a 4 year old little boy named Ronan that lost his battle with cancer. It’s a fantastic, emotional song and all proceeds go towards cancer research.

Just wanted to keep y’all up to speed on some singles that have been released recently. First up, Tim McGraw’s Truck Yeah from his upcoming next album on Big Machine Records. Definitely a fun song, one that Tim pulls off perfectly. Next up, Sarah Darling’s Home to Me. If you loved Sarah’s Blackbird that we told you about recently on a Wear It post, then you’ll love this single. Definitely go have a listen to this one.And last, I’d like to fill you in on Darius Rucker’s True Believers. A love song that will make you love Darius Rucker even more. Go check this single out and you’ll see why Darius is a star.So what else are you guys listening to? I’m definitely full force listening to last week’s release by Radney Foster. Still in my rotation is Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away. My 3 year old is full force stuck on Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. He and I both know the words by heart.
