New Music Releases

Mindy_McCready_-_I'm_Still_Here_(album)I just thought I’d start out this post this week with remembering Mindy McCready. Aside from her personal trials and tribulations she was a great singer. Check out the last album she put out in 2010 called I’m Still Here. Her rendition of The Dance is so sad. Rest in Peace Mindy.

harris-crowell-old-yellow-moonNow let’s get to albums coming out today, we have two albums coming out. The first I’ll talk about is an album by Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris called Old Yellow Moon. Definitely have a listen to Hanging Up My Heart, Black Caffeine, and Open Season on my heart

mavericks-in-time-valory-music-cojpg-7aa8f80a3b762172The second album coming out today is by The Mavericks and it’s called In Time. We haven’t heard from The Mavericks in quite a while, 10 years actually! And this album is a reminder of how great they were back then and are now. Definite listens should be Come Unto Me, Back In Your Arms Again, and Forgive Me.

So that’s whats new today. What’s new with yall?

Hey guys, we’ll pick up with new music releases next week when we have some new stuff to talk about. Let’s talk about one of my favorites, Ashley Monroe. I have waited for another album of hers to come out for a long time since her 2007 album Satisfied. I seem to always go back to it plus the singles she’s released since and listen to them over and over again. She will have a new album out in March, Like A Rose, which I’m very excited about! In the meantime we can listen to her with the Pistol Annies.

My favorite songs have got to be her duet with Ronnie Dunn called I Don’t Want To, and the title track of her album, Satisfied. Also off the Satisfied album I LOVE Hank’s Cadillac and the duet with Dwight Yoakum called That’s Why We Call Each Other Baby. Both are fantastic. Ashley just has a fantastic, unique voice and I can’t wait to hear her upcoming album!

Pirate-Flag
We have a few new singles out that you need to know about! First up Kenny Chesney has a new song out called Pirate Flag. I have a feeling with this song that his next album will be more of his island vibe music than his last album was. But honestly, I’m ok with whichever Kenny Chesney we get, I’ll always be a fan!

Next, we have Lady Antebellum’s Downtown. I’m loving the sound of this new single. It’s an upbeat song about a sorta depressing topic but I definitely think the upcoming album is gonna be great if there’s more music like this!

And finally we have the latest songs off Nashville, Consider Me and I’m a Girl which are both sung by Hayden Panettiere. More great stuff from the Nashville television show…so far I have loved almost all of the music that has come off the show. I’m definitely impressed that the cast is singing everything themselves. Are you still watching?

Tim McGraw has a new album today. You probably already knew that from all the various interviews he’s done lately along with his cover on People magazine. I’m totally not complaining, I mean the guy is easy on the eyes for sure so I’m up for whatever publicity he wants to do! The new album is called Two Lanes of Freedom. So far you’ve probably already heard Truck Yeah on the radio along with One of Those Nights. Just as a reminder, this is his first album for Big Machine Records since leaving Curb Records who he was with for 20 years. In my mind, the most anticipated song for me off this album is the duet with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban called Highway Don’t Care. In all actuality, I don’t think you could go wrong with a Tim McGraw album…heck I’m still listening to his last one, Emotional Traffic (much to my husband’s dismay). Tim puts out good music, plain and simple. Go check this one out for sure!

We’ve got a few new things for you today in terms of new music releases…first up, Kris Kristofferson has a new album out, Feeling Mortal, and it’s pure classic traditional country. You can’t get much better than a Kris Kristofferson written song! Check out the title track: Feeling Mortal.

Blake Shelton has a new single out called Sure Be Cool If You Did. Lately Blake Shelton can’t disappoint with anything he comes out with and this one is no different.

Emerson-Drive-Roll
Emerson Drive also has a new album out called Roll. Lots of uptempo songs on this one with a few ballads thrown in. I’d give She’s My Kind of Crazy, We Are This Town and Love Hangover a listen for sure.

Tim-McGraw-2013-300-02
There’s also a compilation album of Tim McGraw duets that just recently came out via Curb Records called Tim McGraw & Friends. It’s got a lot of our favorite duets including Tony Bennett, Faith Hill, Jo Dee Messina and Randy Travis. This is a good one to get if you didn’t end up getting these duets off some of these other artists albums.

What else are yall listening to these days? There’s definitely some great albums coming out in February that I can’t wait to listen to!

Gary-Allan-Set-You-Free
Gary Allan has a new release out today called Set You Free. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Gary Allan, or at least it feels that way. There has definitely been some ups and downs in his personal life and so you know this album is going to showcase some of those feelings. Allan has a rough sexy voice and he never fails to disappoint us in his songs. This is a great album and he co-wrote and produced many of the songs on the album.

There are tons of different sounds on this album but it really seems to all work together. Here are some of my favorites at first listen: Every Storm Runs Out of Rain, Sand in my Soul, Drop, Good As New. If you listen to those you will be a happy camper for sure.

What else are you listening to these days?

New Music Releases

Are y’all ready to get back to non-holiday music? I am! I’ve got a few good singles you should check out for sure.
Boyfriend
Remember RaeLynn from The Voice? She was on Blake’s team..of course you remember! Well she’s got a single out and you might have caught it recently on The Voice where she performed it live. It’s called Boyfriend and its super sassy. Definitely go check it out.

Katie Armiger has a new single out called Playin’ with Fire. It’s a fast paced song that really gets you right from the start. She’s got a great voice.

Leann Rimes has another single out from her upcoming album. This song is called Borrowed and it seems to follow in line with the last single she released in that it’s coming from a very personal place. I’m definitely hoping we hear more about Leann’s voice in the coming months than hearing about her in the tabloids.

Christmas Duets

I thought I’d throw out some duets that you might not know about that involved some of your favorite country artists. The reason you may not know about these are because they are duets with artists from different genres.

First up duets you may or not know about with some country favs comes off the Elvis Presley Christmas Duets album that came out in 2008. You will find many familiar names on this album for example Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Wynonna Judd and many more.

The next one I have for you is Justin Bieber and The Band Perry! They did a duet on Bieber’s Christmas album out last year. The duet is called “Home This Christmas”. Though an unlikely pair their voices really do blend well, you should definitely have a listen.

And last, the Jessica Simpson song “Merry Christmas, Baby” featuring Willie Nelson is a keeper for sure. You absolutely must add that to your holiday playlist.

So who else are you listening to this holiday season?

Holiday Music

Are y’all ready to get in the holiday spirit! I would love to share some of my favorite country Christmas albums with you to get your playlist started. Here goes…probably my first favorite Christmas album is from King George.
George Strait’s Merry Christmas Strait to You NEVER gets old for me. Dig that out of the archives folks and re-listen, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

My next most played Christmas album is by Lee Ann Womack. A Season for Romance is a great bluesy country Christmas album. My favorite track is the title track although there is a fun duet with Harry Connick Jr that you might want to have a listen to.

You can never go wrong with a Martina McBride Christmas album. This is has some of the classics that she does best.

And last but not least, one of my favorite singers ever, Faith Hill. Her first Christmas single was “Where Are You Christmas” off the Grinch soundtrack. She followed that up with a whole album entitled Joy to the World. Probably the most famous song off this album is “A Baby Changes Everything”. Definitely a must listen.

What are your favorite Christmas albums to listen to each year?

Sole to Sole

I love the fact that Lane boots have turquoise soles. It makes me smile. So can you imagine how over the moon excited I am by these Cinch Edge Boots?

That’s the bottom you all!!!!! How cute!! The front of these Cinch Edge Women’s “Festival” Square Toe Cowboy Boots are just as great.

You guys, the boots are cute, but I have to show you the rest of the soles…

What do you think? Which ones are your favorites? Check out all three women’s styles, and the men’s too! They have cool soles as well. The soles don’t just look good, they are made of thermoplastic polyurethane for a non-slip finish. Useful as well as fun.
