Vendor Spotlight – Montana Silversmith

From belt buckles to stunning silver jewelry, Montana Silversmith makes it all. This company has been crafting silver for nearly 40 years. They understand and respect the history that silver jewelry and adornments have throughout our history and they celebrate it.

The quality of their product speaks for itself  and their website explains how they achieve it…”Montana Silver products are touched by as many as twenty-five caring sets of hands before they are packaged in blue velvet boxes for presentation.”

We are proud to carry Montanan Silversmith and hope you love it too.

A trend?

If you look at our new items page, it seem that there is a Spring trend forming.

colors

Lots of pinks, oranges and deep reds. I typically view the reds and oranges as more Fall colors, but I can for sure envision these paired with white denim or cut off shorts as a new Spring trend. What do you think? Are certain colors more suited for certain seasons, or can you mix and match?

Vendor Spotlight – Lucchese

Lucchese is one of those brands that people tend to wear exclusively. I hear all the time “oh, Lucchese is all I wear!” It is easy to see why. They are exceptional quality, style and durability.

In 1880 Sam Lucchese emigrated to America from Italy. First to New Orleans and then heading on to Texas. Joined by his brothers in 1883, the boot company was formed. In 1919 Sam was more interested in quantity than quality. Ten years later, after his death, the company began to focus more on quality – and that led them to the stellar reputation they still have today. Reading about the Lucchese Boot Company makes you smile. The care and love they put into their product is unmatched.

We are proud to carry this longstanding family business as part of ours.

Lots of Pins

Are you as addicted to Pinterest as I still am? I love that right now my feed is exploding with pics of weddings and babies…and both featuring boots! Of course right now it is all Easter Eggs and spring break crafts.

I have seen a few ideas for adding designs to eggs – use rubber bands or drizzle on rubber cement before dying – or even stickers that you peel off after dying. Love these ideas. Some pins suggest putting an egg in a wisk and using that to lower it into the dye. So smart!

There are gobs of pins out there for sweet treats. I think this Easter bark is calling my name!

As far as Easter Sunday and the what to wear dilemma, I am hoping I can pair this Blu Pepper Women’s Pleated Chiffon Tunic Top with Belt with white jeans and some brown boots. Maybe these Spring inspired Lane Boots.

Blake and Miranda

Seriously, could Blake and Miranda be any more adorable?? The Country Issue of People Mag has features on both of them in it. My favorite part of the piece on Blake is the “If Blake Ruled the World” part. Men in flip flops be ware, Blake wants to end it. He says you can’t help in an emergency in flip flops. He also wants to make tattoos, especially his won, more manly and isn’t a fan of skinny jeans.

As for Miranda, in her downtime she is manning the soda fountain counter in her new boutique in Tishamingo, Oklahoma.  She even suggests that you can kick you your favorite ice cream soda with a splash of vodka or baileys!

Just to throw some fashion in the mix…can’t you picture Miranda in this Resistol Women’s RU Cowgirl Paisley Pearl Off-Shoulder Tunic Dress? I can.

Feathers

I have seen a lot of feathers popping up all over the place. They are such a natural accessory…after all, back in the day they were used as embellishments on clothing and headdresses.

I love these Montana Silversmiths New Classics Hawk Feather Dangle Earrings. They have the detail and beauty of a feather, but are classic and wearable.

Want more feather? Try these Minnetonka Mocs.

Need some bling with your nature? This tank by Panhandle Slim has multicolored rhinestones for added detail.

and baby makes three…

These aren’t really meant as “family” necklaces…but I think this Montana Silversmiths Necklace would make a great gift for a new mom, or any mom really! The 3 charms are perfect to symbolize a family of three.

The Crystal Shine necklace and earrings set has a single silver toned circle bead encrusted with clear crystals with black beads, with the same clear crystal setting and silver rope border, on either side. The earnings are the same as the black beads.

If silver is not your go to accessory color, try this Topaz Crystal Shine Necklace and Earring Set. Same great design but a gold and topaz color pallet.

I might need to pick one of these up and save it for myself for mother’s day! I can’t buy my own mom one…there would need to be more charms on it for all my siblings…but for my small family of 3 this is perfect!

Vendor Spotlight – Double J Saddelry

I love when I read about a company that walks the walk verses just talking the talk. Double J Saddelry is filled with people who ride hourses….daily. Many of them also compete on a national level in team roping or are involved in barrel racing, cutting, and western pleasure. As their site says, they “are connected to people who make a living working cattle on horseback here in South Texas.”

langstons_2250_92863346

They have been around since 1991 building custom saddles as well as great looking tack, belts, and personal accessories. All from their factory in Yoakum, Texas.

We are proud to carry their fine belts. I can’t guarantee they will make you ride better, but can tell you that you will look good while trying!
