Wear It: Highway Don’t Care

If you haven’t already checked out Tim McGraw’s new video Highway Don’t Care featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban you really should. And you should show it to all your teenage kids. Like this video should be a requirement. Why you ask? Because of the message: Don’t TEXT and DRIVE! So I feel like it’s important to pass this video along in anyway we can whether it’s through this hear blog or however we can. Check out the video now…

Tough subject, tough video to watch. Let’s lighten things up a bit and talk about Tim’s outfit that he’s wearing on his way into the hospital. Very professional look he’s got going there, yet casual. Business casual! So here’s how you can put that look together on your own with the help of Langston’s.

We’ve got a new album out today by THE KING, yes that would be Mr George Strait himself. George’s new album is called Love is Everything and it’s a winner! George has been at it long enough in this business to know what works and this album is definitely working. It’s like he keeps getting better and better! I am not really sure how to narrow down the must listens on this album because I’m gonna listen to this album over and over and over again I can already tell. But these are the ones that caught my attention at first listen: “I Got a Car”, “Blue Melodies”, “I Thought I Heard My Heart Sing”.

Trace Adkins also has a new album out today called Love Will… and he’s got some awesome guest stars if you will. Exile and Colbie Caillet are featured on this album. These are the must listens for this album: “Kiss You All Over”, “If The Sun Comes Up”, “Watch The World End”.

Go check these out for sure! So tell me, what else are yall listening to?

Wear It: Hush Hush

Pistol Annies came out with a new video this week and it’s an absolute HOOT. The video goes perfectly with the story of the song and all of the girls announced that their own families were starring in the video. Pay close attention to the girl’s “NICE” dresses as you watch…

Fun video right? I mean you can obviously tell whose parents are whose can’t you?? And Miranda said that was in fact her grandmother drinking from the flask. Go back and catch that part again, I’ll wait. See? Too funny!! Ok, now let’s get down to the business of their clothes. Miranda has a dress on that has ruffles at the neckline and we can hook you up with that same look, perfect for spring/summer! Here’s how we’d do it the Langston’s way!

Two BIG releases this week. First up, Pistol Annies have a new album out today called Annie Up. This is Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angeleena Presley second album together as the group Pistol Annies. You’ve probably heard the first single “Hush Hush” which is a must listen. Some other songs you definitely want to check out are “Don’t Talk About Him, Tina”, “Blues Your a Buzzkill”, and “Damn Thing”, though you should probably buy the whole album because all the songs are great if you are a Pistol Annies fan. They don’t disappoint.

LadyAntebellumGolden
The next big release out today is Lady Antebellum’s Golden. They already have a hit on their hands with “Downtown”. This is their fourth studio album and includes both upbeat fun songs as well as some ballads. Definite must listens are “Goodbye Town”, “It Ain’t Pretty”, and “All for Love”. This is a fantastic album, go check it out!

Wear It: Impossible Dreams

I hadn’t heard much about Danielle Peck until I stumbled across this new video she has out. It’s definitely an inspiration video and she’s definitely rockin’ some fantastic outfits in the video as well. Check it out….

Man that video is sort of a tearjerker isn’t it?? I’m liking Danielle’s new sound and I’m definitely loving the looks she has going on in this video. I decided to do a little bit of a combo of her two outfits…the tight jeans with a tank and jeans and the yellow dress to recreate this look the Langston’s way. A tank and jeans with boots is the ultimate sexy outfit in my opinion and you can dress it up or dress it down however you’d like.

We’ve got some new stuff out today! Kenny Chesney’s latest Life On A Rock is out today. If you are a fan of Kenny’s island life songs then this is sure to please. You’ll even get a duet with Willie Nelson thrown into the mix. Who can resist Willie! The must listens are: “When I See This Bar”, “Lindy”, “Happy On The Hey Now”.

Also out today is an album by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell called Love Has Come For You. It’s a folk album including Steve Martin’s banjo picking and Edie Brickell’s words and voice. As you can imagine with Edie Brickell’s vocals, it’s a very laid back sound but with the awesome Steve Martin banjo playing. Definitely check this one out.

Krystal-Keith-EP

An EP that you should be aware of is by Krystal Keith, daughter of none other than Toby Keith and folks she’s got a great voice! Looks like most people are buying “Daddy Dance With Me” on iTunes but I’m thinking I really like the song “Can’t Buy You Money”. I think it really showcases her voice.

I’d like to end this post with a nod to the great George Jones who left us too soon. I love so many of George Jones’ songs but the one that always gets me is “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. iTunes has a Remembering George Jones section up right now–go get lost in some of those songs.

Wear It: Drinkin’

I am going to admit that I hadn’t heard of Holly Williams before this but just listening to the first few seconds of this song and she’s got a new fan. I just love the traditional sound and her traditional country look. Check it out first and then we’ll discuss.

See what I mean? She’s definitely rocking the traditional look and sound and I’m LOVING it. She’s got your basic brown cowboy boots, bootcut jeans and a plaid shirt but it’s SEXY! And all of us can pull it off! These are what I pulled off the Langston’s site but the options are neverending! There is plaid galore on the Langston’s site, so go change it up!

Something-You-Cant-Live-WithoutThere are some great new singles out lately and all three of these ladies have been or are on our television sets! First up! Wynonna has a single out called Something You Can’t Live Without. Wynonna has been all over the tv lately, first with Dancing with the Stars and second with an hour long documentary regarding her husband’s horrific motorcycle accident in which he lost one of his legs. The documentary is called Wynonna & Cactus: The Road Back. Check out all of the above. You can’t go wrong with Wynonna!

51eDM-FTO9L._SL500_AA280_Next song I have to tell you about is Jana Kramer. She’s had a single out called Whiskey for a little bit now and she just recently released an acoustic version. This is a good song folks! It’s still in my listening rotation! And I just loved Jana Kramer when she was on One Tree Hill…remember that?!

sasha-pieterse-this-country-is-badassThe last song you should be aware of is by sassy Sasha Pieterse who currently stars on Pretty Little Liars. The song is called The Country is Bad Ass. So that’s one heck of a song title huh? It’s an upbeat fun song, have a listen.

Wear It: Still Rollin’

Looks like Gretchen Wilson is back in the ball game here…she’s got a new video out called Still Rollin’ and I think she’s on FIYAH with this one. It really showcases her voice.

Great song right? I little reminiscent of Bob Seger’s Against the Wind am I right? And let’s talk about her laid back look, I’m loving it! Very simple and very rock n roll. Just take any black tee with graphic art on it and pair with with some black jeans and some rockin’ boots and you are DONE! Here’s how I’d do it the Langston’s way.

Willie Nelson has a new album out today called Let’s Face the Music and Dance. Willie never lets us down with his new release year after year. This year he turns 80 and is in his 6th decade of recording. If you are a true Willie Nelson fan, you won’t be disappointed by this album. This is the same great Willie sound you are used to mixed with remakes of old songs written by Irving Berlin, Carl Perkins, Frank Loesser and Django Reinhart, and one of his own songs, “Is The Better Part Over.” In addition there are a couple of instrumental songs.

Listen to his own remake of Is the Better Part Over, South of the Border and Walking My Baby Back Home.

I honestly never get tired of listening to Willie Nelson…I have so many of his albums and there is nothing better than turning up a little Willie Nelson for the drive home at the end of a tired day.
