Kellie Pickler has a new album out called The Woman I Am. This album is definitely leaning towards more traditional country than the country pop you mainly hear, which I think suits Pickler’s voice perfectly if I do say so myself. The title track was co-written by Pickler and her husband Kyle Jacobs, which of course makes me want to go listen to that song first! Another track titled Selma Drye is inspired by Pickler’s grandmother that raised her. Definitely go check out both of those along with Someone Somewhere Tonight which was released a while back and features her Dancing with the Stars partner Derek Hough in the video.
Did most of you catch the 2013 CMA Awards last week? Taylor Swift did a phenomenal version of her song Red with greats Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Edgar Meyer, Sam Bush and Eric Darken. If you didn’t catch it on the show you definitely need to either buy the single available on iTunes or watch the video. It’s fantastic!
