Wear It: Bruises

Train and Ashley Monroe teamed up for a fantastic new song called “Bruises”. This is immediately going on my playlist and the video is just as a fantastic. Check it out:

Isn’t it just a great song/message/video? Train has been doing stuff with Martina McBride lately, so it’s nice to see them team up with Pistol Annies own Ashley Monroe. Ashley’s outfit in the video is just perfect in terms of casual chic. I’m going to help you recreate her outfit via Langston’s.

Lucky Brand Women’s Jasmine Lace Cutout Top – White
Lucky Brand Women’s Lil Maggie Flare Jeans – Ol’ Folklore
Corral Women’s Eagle Stitched Distressed Crackle Saddle Boots – Tan
Lucky Brand Women’s Silver Collar Metal Necklace

Don’t you just love the everyday wearability of her outfit? I mean it’s comfy yet elegant looking. As for the men, you can definitely all pull off Pat Monahan’s layered look by putting a basic tee under a button up, pair that with some jeans and some Dingo Harness boots and you are set!

New Music Releases

I have a few more new singles you need to check out! In addition to all the Nashville releases that are being released after each episode, we have a single by Sheryl Crow.

“Woman in the White House” is definitely a fun song and a portion of the proceeds go to the American Red Cross.

The release of Christina Aguilera’s latest album, Lotus, has a duet with her fellow The Voice judge Blake Shelton. It’s called “Just a Fool” and it is definitely a must listen! Go out there and download that one for sure!

And last but not least, The Band Perry has a new single out called “Better Dig Two”. It is an awesome song–very Miranda Lambert-esque if you will.

So there you have the latest and greatest…tell me what you are listening to these days. I’m still listening to Carrie Underwood’s latest album. Did yall happen to catch her Unplugged on tv? She did a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” and it was pretty amazing!

Wear It: Tornado

If you haven’t checked out the new Little Big Town video “Tornado” you simply must. It’s an eerie type of scene…check it out…pay close attention to Karen Fairchild’s outfit because that’s what I want to spotlight for you here today.

Whoever did the clothing and makeup for this video did an insanely good job, in my opinion. Everyone in the band looks great, especially the girls. I do believe this is the first time I’ve seen Kimberly Schlapman with straight-ish hair! But let’s move on to Fairchild’s outfit. The fur look is very trendy right now and we’ve got it right here at Langston’s!

Powder River Women’s Charis Faux Suede Coat with Fur Trim
Cruel Girl Women’s Strappy Tank Top
Miss Me Women’s Slim Fit Boot Cut Jeans with Leather Leaf Inserts
Ariat Women’s 15″ Hacienda Western Boots – Old West Black

So what do you think? Are you gonna go for the fur trend this fall/winter?

New Music Releases

I need to catch yall up on some singles that have been released recently that you NEED to have in your rotation. First up, anything off the new ABC show Nashville!

There have been several singles released from the show namely “Telescope”, “Undermine”, “If I Didn’t Know Better”, and “Fade Into You”. “Telescope” was released twice, once as Hayden Panettiere’s version and once as Connie Britton’s character’s daughters. Personally I love the daughters version tremendously. Go download “Telescope” by Stella Lennon & Maisy Stella.

Next up, Tim McGraw’s latest single. He performed this on the CMAs last week and he just gets better you know? This song will be on his upcoming “Two Lanes of Freedom” album. Go have a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

And last but not least, Kelly Clarkson’s first official country single “Don’t Rush”. She too performed this on the CMAs, with Vince Gill who sings and plays on this song. When I first heard this song I thought, oh this sounds kinda like 80s country and well what do you know….Kelly said toTaste of Country Nights radio that she was going for a Crystal Gayle sound and that’s why folks I thought it sound 80s-ish. I love it, and I bet you do too!

Feathers

I am in love with feathers! The look, the whimsy, the colors – all of it. My love started with these Corral boots and soon turned to this Rock and Roll Cowgirl Shirt.

The abstract feather print on this dolman blouse would look amazing with black jeggings and boots. The top layer is 100% polyester and the tank top layered underneath is jersey knit. The 3/4-length dolman sleeves and scoop neckline are easily dressed up or down.

Speaking of feathers….why is the Miss Me sweater not in my closet!?!?

And if it does end up in my closet, it will be worn with these Minnetonka booties. For sure.

Yep, I think I am in full feather obsession over here. How about you?

Studs

Nope, not hot guys…..at least not in this post. I am talking about the little metal details that are everywhere right now. I love how they toughen up your average tee and make it special.

This 3/4 length sleeve Stetson tee is perfect for Fall. Need something with a bit more oomph? Try this Cruel Girl Dolman Sleeve top. Perfect for a night out.

Such a great way to add a bit of rocker to your look. A bit of edge to your country. I love mixing in different looks…boots with a rocker tee or a frilly blouse. A western top with stiletto heels. Do you mix looks or stick with one?

Wear It: Ex-Old Man

Today I’m featuring Kristen Kelly’s Ex-Old Man video. This is the classic story of the best friend stealing her man. Kelly is new to me but I love her voice and she’s got a rockin’ style going on. Check it out:

So here’s how you’d rock that look the Langston’s way…

Miss Me Women’s Dip-Dyed Burnout Striped Tank Top – Teal
Ariat Women’s Lizzie Vest – Cloud
Rock & Roll Cowgirl Women’s Low Rise Boot Cut Jeans with Leather Cross Design
Old Gringo Women’s Leigh Anne Studded Cowboy Boots – Black
Lucky Brand Women’s Silver Collar Metal Necklace

Definitely a rocker chick look if I’ve ever seen one! I’ve had my eye on those Old Gringo boots for a while now, it might be time to bite the bullet, don’t you agree?

So tell me, what have you had your eye on? A certain country singer’s style, a certain boot or pair of jeans? Tell me and we can work up an outfit for you!
