Wear It: He’s Mine
In honor of Father’s Day coming up, I thought Rodney Atkins’ He’s Mine was perfect. Check out the video and you’ll see why…looks like Rodney’s own dad makes an appearance at the end!
Cool video huh? Father/Son videos are sorta hard to come by and I love this one. I love that in the song the sons are sorta rebellious in nature and the dads are proud the kids because they are a chip off the old block! Let’s get to the fashion in the video, shall we? Rodney’s style in this video could have been handpicked from Langston’s!! I love a classic pearl snap shirt, jeans and a cap on a guy. Don’t you? So here’s how I’d recreate his outfit…

Father’s Day
Are you like me and just now realized that Father’s Day is this weekend? I may be late shopping but I still have the perfect gifts!
For my dad, a good classic button down. This Wrangler Men’s George Strait Long Sleeve Button Down Western Shirt would make any dad happy.
For my husband, Men’s Dickies 13″ Multi-Use Pocket Work Shorts. I love these shorts. You can throw them on with a tee and head out to a BBQ, or just as easily do yard work, fix a car or build a fence. You can really wear these for anything. The fact that they are wrinkle and stain resistant helps, and the extra leg pocket makes sure has room for his phone and keys and things! At $22 each, I think I might get him 2 pairs (they come in 4 colors!)!
For my brother, a Lucky Brand Men’s Always Lucky Baseball Cap so he can play catch in the yard with his son and not get too much sun on his face!
New Music Releases
Today Josh Turner’s Punching Bag comes out! This is Turner’s 5th studio album and his latest single, Time is Love is on the charts already.
Josh Turner wrote or co-wrote 8 of the 11 songs on the album. The cool thing about that is that he built a cabin on his property specifically to go to to write songs and he in fact wrote those from this album there. This is what he had to say about that:
“I spent two years building my writer’s cottage. Once it was finished I was immediately in there writing songs. In total, I’ve written 27 songs in there and eight of those ended up on the record,” says Josh. “My hero and friend, John Anderson, was sitting across the table from me one day when we were writing and said, ‘What will really be a great day is when the songs you write here end up paying for this place!’”
Pretty cool huh? So anyway, these are the songs that captured my attention immediately: Find Me a Baby, Pallbearer, and I Was There.

A Night Out
I talk a lot on here about great “night out” outfits for the ladies…but what about the men?

The jeans are slim fit with a mid rise and bootcut leg. They have a dark denim wash with hand-sanding and whiskering detail. The jeans are stylish, but simple. They let the shirt and boots shine. The shirt is classic black, but kicked up some with the embroidery detail. The boots aren’t simple…they are amazing! I love that the design is gold/brown. The brown on black makes this boot so versatile. I love these dressed up with a button up shirt, but I also think they work great with a classic and simple white tee.
This is perfect for a night on the town. Dinner, drinks, dancing – combine them with this outfit and I think a good night kiss is in your future!

The Band Perry has a new video out called Postcard from Paris and I’m absolutely loving all the outfits in the video, specifically Kimberly Perry’s outfits. All of her outfits have a country/parisian feel to them if that’s even a thing! Check it out here:
Cute outfits right? Kimberly is sorta known for wearing dresses a lot, but I think my favorite outfit is the one she wears with skinny jeans. I love that her top is very feminine and that the jeans are kinda rock n roll. Here’s how I’d replicate it:

New Music Releases
Alan Jackson’s latest album, Thirty Miles West, comes out today. This is his first release from his own label after being with Arista the rest of his career. If you love Alan Jackson, this album won’t let you down in the least. Classic Alan Jackson style is what you will get with this album.
You Go Your Way, She Don’t Get High, and his current single So You Don’t Have to Love Me Anymore are definitely my top picks. There’s also Dixie Highway featuring Zac Brown that you might want to check out as well.
Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter have new releases out today as well that you might want to go have a listen to. Next week we’ve got a few new releases for you that are exciting. So tell us, what are you listening to now? Will you be checking out Alan Jackson’s new album? I will!
Texas Women
How did we get to the finale already!?!?! Wow. That went fast, but was certainly full of fun. The Vegas trip turned out well for the girls….well, mostly. I think Anna had a rough patch, but all in all it was good. I loved Brooke’s look the second night – a sequined skirt and a long sleeve black top. Very flattering and stylish.
The ladies made a trip to the gun range to shoot some massive artillery. Hannah’s red jeans reminded me of these Lucky Brand Women’s Colorful Sofia Capri pants.
Best line was from Ali, “We love to get gussied up and get pretty, but we also like to go out and shoot some crap sometimes.” Classic.
The last night Anna had on an Aztec print dress, and in the last scene of the show Brooke had on a skirt in that same vein. Come to think of it, Hannah’s poncho when she went to visit Ali on set was too. These types of prints are really hot right now. Here are a few you can add to your closet.

Ali’s shoot went great. Really – what more can I say. She is a natural!!! And she can rock boots and jeans shorts perfectly!
Anna went to some counseling which I think was a great step for her. And not to be cheesy and play of the word step…but…she was stepping out in some cute moccasins. These Minnetonka Moccasin – Women’s Thunderbird Beaded Moccasins are similar to the ones she had on.
I am happy to see Hannah and Brooke getting along. Really everyone is doing well. Brooke has her horse shampoo line, Ali with her music, Hannah with her modeling and it looks like Anna is on the way to figuring out what is holding her back. I think next season everyone will be on their game and shooting for the stars. I can’t wait!!!
Lace
I just clicked on “new items” and fell in love. Have you seen this Derek Heart Lace Cap Sleeve Tee? We have it in purple, blue, white, red and black. And….are you ready for this? It is $15!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can think of a million ways to style this. Dinner and drinks…I’d pair the black or red one with a black cami, skinny jeans and some heels. Hanging out during the day? The white one is begging to be worn with a white cami, jean shorts and some boots. Need a new office look? The purple and blue ones would be great under a blazer or with a suit. Wear them with a matching cami, or white or black.
I also think it would be really fun to pair these with contrasting camis. Red under the black lace or something fun like a yellow or lime green under the purple or the blue for a bright summer look. Or try a complementing color in the same family. A light pink cami under the purple lace, or baby blue under the blue one. Yikes…so many combos to try!!!
