Wear It: Good Girl

Have y’all seen Carrie Underwood’s new video Good Girl? I love the song and the video is super fun with all the outfit changes. She does a little good girl vs bad girl routine in the song. Check it out:

See what I mean? Lots of outfit changes and I can’t decide which ones I like better, the good girl or the bad girl stuff. But she definitely rocks both looks, amirite? So I decided to just go with a bad girl look. I mean wouldn’t you???? So here’s a bad girl look, the Langstons’s way…

Rock & Roll Cowgirl Women’s Sleeveless Peasant Top with Embroidery – Red
Rock & Roll Cowgirl Women’s Low Rise Jeans with Leather Applique Cross
Lane Boots Women’s ‘Margaret’ Cowboy Boots – Red/Black

Now, while Carrie doesn’t necessarily wear this look, I think it would fit right in with all her other bad girl looks, don’t you?

Do you have a favorite video or outfit that you want us to feature here? Let us know and we’ll make it happen!

The Voice

Time for another recap of the fashion variety.

Team Xtina:
It looks like this episode was taped at the same time as last weeks…but somehow last week I missed Christina’s leopard print corseted top. Never fear, it did not escape me this week. This Joy Joy Women’s Pink Multi Leopard Print Ruffle Dress would totally work to emulate the look. Add a thick black belt for that corseted look and you are all set. Top it off with red lips and you will be ready to hit the town.

In rehearsals, Sera’s tank had lots of sequin details along the neckline. Make this look your own with this Iron Horse Women’s Ada Short Sleeve Burn Out T-Shirt.

As far as the rest of the fashion on Team Xtina….was that a crushed velvet blazer on Sera in the other rehearsal scene? I was not a fan. And Jewel looked a bit frumpy in her maternity looking top. As far as the performances…the judges were the same as last week. Old man sweater, Flying saucer, Basic Black and CeeLo.

Winner – Sera. I agree. Attitude wins it.

Team Blake:
Is Charlotte in crushed velvet too? What is up with the crushed velvet in this episode? During rehearsals Lex looked great. I loved the pop of color with her red belt….then they panned down and I saw the red shoes. I love one, but not both. Either the shoes or the belt and she would have been nailing the look. Both was overkill for me. She did look amazing in the silver flapper dress during the battle though.

And Charlotte, she looked great. I thought her dress looked like a Rock and Roll Cowgirl tee on steroids. I of course mean that in a good way! Look…take this Rock and Roll Cowgirl Women’s Distressed Ornate Cross Print T-Shirt, add a bit of length to it, some more bling and sleeves and you have that dress! This girl needs to check out Rock and Roll Cowgirl. I think she would love everything they make!

The part in the car killed me. Ok, Ok – we get it. They can listen to voicemail over blue tooth. Ugh.

Winner – Charlotte. I guess attitude does win it as shown in the previous battle. Not sure I agree, but there it is.

Team CeeLo:
I guess I missed last week that he was barefoot in half the shots. Nice. He really does take comfort to heart. In rehearsals Juliet busted out a fur vest with some leather sailor shorts. Kind of an odd pairing to me – but the fur worked. For a similar look, try this Stetson Women’s Belted Sweater with Faux Fur Collar but maybe pair it with some jeans instead of shorts?

Julie…leather shorts, shiney studded leggings – do you get the feeling she dresses this way all the time? I do. I think it’s just part of her. And that’s actually pretty cool. It goes along with her gritty voice. I like Sarah, but she just got out paired. Juliet was tough to match.

Winner – Juliet. I could have told you CeeLo would pick her before the show even aired. She is a performer. He likes that.

Team Adam:
Oh Adam. You know I love the old man sweaters. I really do. But a simple white tee and jeans….love it every time. He wore it with some converse type sneakers which I like, but had he thrown on some boots it would have been even better. Alanis gave some solid life lesson type advice…”be present in life”. Then Carson referred to this as an Epic Battle. I didn’t think it was all that epic until the end, but the end was good. Whitney suffers from the hair issues that Adley had last week. Great curl, but needs some styling. But she sounded good and that is what really matters right?

Winner – Kim. Agree. It was a tough pairing but she nailed it.

Team Xtina again:
Are you sold on the denim jacket yet? I am telling you. It’s a must have wardrobe staple. Try this Lucky Brand Women’s Sabrina Denim Jacket in Rainstorm.

Lee wore some great shirts. One had a contrast yolk on it and the other had some embroidery. Looking at his style and our site I found lots of great picks for him. This Rockmount Men’s Long Sleeve Solid Snap Shirt with Floral Embroidery would be a great show shirt for him.

Can we talk about the fact that Blake didn’t know the song!?!?!?! I love you dude, but you need to know that song!!!! I bet he caught it from Miranda that night. Hopefully she sat him down and made him listen to it!

Winner – Lindsey. Not sure how I feel on this. I think watching Lee throughout the competition could have been fun, but she could be too. I was kind of creeped out by Carson grabbing their hands right before the announcement.

Team CeeLo again:
Seriously? Another Member’s Only type jacket? But this time plaid. I actually kind of liked it. Jamar rocked a camo hat during rehearsals, similar to this Mossy Oak Men’s Explorer Cap – Camo.

Honestly, I really kind of love Jaime. His harmonies made Jamal sound great. And if that guy picked up a guitar or something he would seem less awkward. But all in all, I kind of like him. But….

Winner – Jamal. Clearly.

So that is about it for this week. CeeLo’s cat made an appearance again this week, showing us that CeeLo is in fact a decedent of Dr. Evil. That guys just cracks me up. Can’t wait for next week. I will be out of town…so I will need your help!!!! Recap it for me!!!

New Music Releases

A while back I did a Wear It on Neal McCoy and y’all his album is OUT! It’s called XII! And if you love some good country music, this album is for you. This is McCoy’s first album in seven years and it’s co-produced by none other than Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. The song “Mouth” was written by Jamey Johnson, so you know with all this talent mixed together it’s going to be a good album to listen to because Neal McCoy was obviously not messing around with this one!

On first listen these are my favs: Mouth, A-Ok, That’s Just How She Gets. Honestly every song is pretty much a feel good song. He’s got a great voice and it’s a very country album, so if that’s what you are looking for then this is the album for you.

What are you listening to? Have I told y’all that in addition to all this new stuff I add to my playlists I also have to have Taylor Swift thrown in the mix because my 3 year old son knows all of her songs by heart? There’s just a little personal tidbit from me to you.

Guest Post – Horses and Heels

Hello & hi followers of Langston’s blog, I’m Raquel from Horses & Heels. I am so happy to be guest posting here for you on such a lovely Friday. I wanted to share an outfit that I created entirely from Langstons.com (with the exception of the cosmetics). It’s perfect for transitioning into spring especially if you don’t want to do anything drastic right away.

Start with a neutral outfit like this, a dress by Ariat & boots give off an earthy vibe but the pops of white & cream flowers soften the look. Adding brighter & more colorful makeup is a great way to add a “touch of spring” without going overboard. This outfit is perfect for date night, a casual lunch, shopping with the girls, or even getting groceries. Use makeup to achieve either a day time or night time look.

Thank you Deb from Langston’s for having me & if you haven’t checked out Horses & Heels yet, please do. I’ll be back in the future to do some more guest posting & Langston’s & I will also be sharing some fun things that you don’t want to miss out on.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Raquel

Wear It: All Just To Get To You

Do you know Pat Green? He started out in Texas and was part of the whole “Texas Country” revolution…there are a lot of great “Texas Country” artists you should get to know…Charlie Robison, Roger Creager, Cory Morrow, etc. So anyway, Pat Green has a new album coming out called Songs We’d Wish We’d Written II. It’s a follow-up to his collaboration with Cory Morrow (fantastic album by the way, you should check it out). So when I saw the first single/video had come out for the follow-up I most definitely wanted to feature it here on the blog.

Let’s check out the video first…you’ll notice Pat Green has a very easy style…mainly a button up shirt with rolled up sleeves and jeans. A couple of times I’ve seen him in concert he’s performed barefoot…

So let’s get to the outfit, shall we?

I threw those Texas Tech boots in because Pat Green when to college there…but you can sub in whatever college you went to…sound good?

The Voice

Did you guys watch The Voice on Monday? I love the battle rounds almost as much as I love Adam’s old man sweaters. Ok here goes…a recap of sorts. A fashion recap. First up, some men’s shirts…later we can address the crazy.

In rehearsals Tony Lucca wore a light blue snap shirt, kind of like this Lucky Brand Snap Shirt.

And our man Blake wore a redish brown one like this Rough Stock Long Sleeve Shirt.

During the battles Blake wore classic black. Try this Rock and Roll Cowboy one. It has a bit of embroidery on the back, so still classic, but with some detail.

Let’s stick with the men here for another minute. I wasn’t a big fan of the pleather member’s only jacket that Chris wore for his performance. He seems like a Pendelton guy to me. I mean, look…he even looks a little like this model!

As far as the men’s fashion that had me a bit confused….CeeLo, of course. But…red santin Pjs?!?! He cracks me up. And the grey sweatshirt thing that Anthony wore…what was that?

Ok, on to the women.

RaeLynn wore a peasant type shirt in some of the rehearsal scenes. It kind of reminded me of this Ariat Chiffon Shirt as far as style goes.

Miranda came to help out on set and wore a red and black plaid shirt. She is so darn cute it kills me. This Cowgirl Up Button Up Shirt would achieve the same look. Wear it open over a tank or tee like she did.

Adley wore a big belt buckle in some of the rehearsal scenes. I love some good western bling! How about this Ariat Belt Buckle?

Christina showed one of my favorite go to looks, a denim jacket. She wore it with a long black maxi dress. Everyone needs a denim jacket for spring. It is a go-to easy look. Try this Levi’s Denim Trucker Jacket.

Chessa had some fringe going on in the performance part. Not exactly this, but in the same vein. This Miss Me Tank is one I could see her wearing for sure.

And lastly, my girl Jordis. She is my favorite going into this thing. She struggled with the song and it wasn’t great – but she is still my fav. And the shoes she wore….Oh WOW. I want those heels. Loved them. But as far as day to day, we need to get her to rock some Dingo Boots. They are perfect for a rocker like her. These 7″ Dingo Zipper Harness Boots are perfect for her.

So I counted like 2 or 3 pleather member’s only type jackets in this episode, 2 pairs of satin pants on CeeLo (a full red PJs set, and black ones with a black sweater), a couple of old man sweaters and one flying saucer. Oh yes, we had to mention Xtina’s flying saucer facinator. The fashion was entertaining as always, and the performances too. As far as those…

Tony v. Chris….I agree. I like Tony Lucca. And I think when saying his name you have to say both first and last. It just sounds right that way.

RaeLynn v. Adley…I knew Blake would go with RaeLynn. He likes artists he can work with and help. He can really watch her grow over these next few weeks. I also agree, I think she is the better pick. And I love Adley too – but that girl needs to reign in those curls. Great great hair but styled not so great.

Angie v. Chessa…I knew he would pick Chessa. I would have picked Angie. To me Chessa is more acting like she is singing verses singing. Does that make any sense? It is just too forced and over the top for me. But so very CeeLo.

Monique v. Chris….Chris got the nod. I am not sure here. I think she could have been fun to watch, but I also think he will be interesting. This was a tough call. much like….

Anthony v. Geoff….Geoff got it. He is kind of like Chessa for me. A bit too into it. I just didn’t believe him as much as Anthony. But….who am I? Clearly not a judge…at least not until the later rounds where our votes count!

So that’s it for a recap. Let me know your thoughts!!!

Wear It: Dirt Road Anthem

We had a request not too long ago for some Jason Aldean on our Wear It series. I decided to spotlight the Dirt Road Anthem video because Jason’s outfit is pretty casual and anyone can pull it off. Here’s the video:

You can’t go wrong with a western snap shirt, jeans and boots right? Here’s how I’d do that outfit the Langston’s way:

Pendleton Men’s Short Sleeve Plaid Snap Shirt – Blue

Rock and Roll Cowboy Men’s Relaxed Fit Boot Cut Double Barrel Jeans with Multi Embroidery

Ariat Men’s Nitro Boots – Gulch Tan/Quartz

If you just add a few accessories like a straw hat and a leather wrist band you will be all set with the classic Jason Aldean outfit. And you can get this same look with different plaid shirts and different jeans that are even more beat up. It just depends on how casual you want to go and what color scheme you are after. Check out some more of our plaid snap shirts here.

What do you say? Would you Wear it??
