Did you guys know that our flagship store in the Oklahoma City Stockyards is haunted!?!?!
As the story goes, back in the days before we occupied the space, there was a dance hall in the building. Legend has it that two women, Rose and Patty worked in the dance hall. Patty was shot by a jealous lover on the first floor, and Rose, who was overcome with grief, hung herself upstairs.
According to reports, the upstairs area has left many an employee with feelings of unrest and dread. There have been cases of the lights turning off and on by themselves and and a “presence” seems to be always up there. HauntedHouses.com even recounts an employee being shoved down the stairs by a paranormal being.
What do you think? A bit of Halloween fun, or a truly haunted building? Lucky for me the Internet department is housed at a different location. Legend or not, I see no need to take any chances!!
When asked about this outfit, Debbie said “I love this dress. Seriously, I have no words!” I love it when people get excited about clothes. Yes, it is what is on the inside that counts, but that is no reason not to have fun with what is on the outside too!! Debbie lists these boots as her favorites and thinks they pair well with the dress. I agree! She picked the necklace for the same reason I liked it with this dress. The neckline allows the necklace to stand out.
LeAnn Rimes has a new video out called “Give”. It’s a powerful ballad with a powerful message. LeAnn’s outfit is very soft and subtle, allowing the message of the song to shine through. This outfit also looks decidedly COMFORTABLE y’all! Check it out:
I’m sorta in love with this outfit now even thought it’s muted greys and tans. Here’s how I’d do it Langston’s style:
Honestly, I want to put all these items in my cart right now and hit CHECKOUT. The top is flowy and forgiving and those moccasins you know have got to be like wearing slippers all day but you will look so darn cute doing it!
What do y’all think? Will you be rocking this look of LeAnn’s? Tell us! We want to know!
I am in love with these new Pendelton sweaters that we just put up on the site. I think they are the quintessential winter item. I know these are men’s sweaters…and wow, they really do make a man look like he just came in from chopping down fire wood at the cabin in the snow…and I mean that in a good way. Here, look….
But I think this sweater does double duty. The man of the house can wear it one day…and then you can steal it the next. And really, who doesn’t love to steal the man’s cozy sweaters?
We’ve got two new releases this week by some BIG names!
First up, Vince Gill’s Guitar Slinger. Vince wrote or co-wrote every song on the album. Amy Grant even duets with him on the album which was recorded in their home studio.
These are my top picks from this album: Threaten Me With Heaven, Who Wouldn’t Fall In Love With You, True Love.
Second, we have Toby Keith’s Clancy’s Tavern. This is Keith’s 15th album and he wrote or cowrote 10 of the 11 songs on the album. There is definitely something for everyone on this album and for any mood you may be in. Uptempo fun songs along with slow thoughtful tunes.
These are my top picks from this album: Just Another Sundown, I Won’t Let You Down, Beers Ago.
Did you pick either of these albums up? What is your favorite release lately? Favorite song? Tell us! We want to know! I’ll go first, Martina McBride’s Whatcha Gonna Do has been on repeat for me since last week, however it may get bumped for Vince Gill’s True Love. Your turn!
Let’s start at the top….Christy picked this Cindy Smith Women’s 3 Strand Turquoise Necklace and Earring Set. This matching turquoise necklace and earring set features a three strand turquoise necklace as well as matching earrings. Christy said, ” I love the necklace because of the three different strands, the texture and the turquoise stone brings it all together.” This set works well paired with a button down, like the Roper Women’s Long Sleeve Paisley Print Snap Shirt that Christy picked, but it also works with solid knits or basic cotton. It’s very versatile.
Christy paired the button down with these Levi’s ® Juniors 524 ™ Boot Cut Jeans. I also think it would be great with some black pants or jeans. She said, ” I picked this shirt because of the ocean blue color and the warm tone paisley print. The jeans are very comfortable and the dark blue compliments the ocean blue in the shirt. ”
As for boots, Christy went with Ariat, the Women’s Legend Boots. About the boots she said, ” I picked the boots because of the color which brings out the brown in the shirt. ”
