This week Katie picked our Employee Outfit of the Week.  As with a lot of our outfits, it all starts with the boots. Katie picked Daisey Boots from Corral. She said, “I just love these boots! The daisies make the style more fun and girlie to me.”

Paired with the fun boots, some classic jeans. According to Katie, “…this outfit needs some light colored jeans and what’s better than these by Levi’s? Perfect fit and shade!”  Her pick was the Levi’s 525. These perfect waist, straight leg jeans are an easy to wear jean. The sky color easily pairs with anything.

We saw this Southern Thread Green Snap Shirt a few weeks ago on CMT’s Texas Women on Ali Dee. Katie said, “the shirt’s different colors come together nicely and make this shirt stand out from the crowd.” I bet that was why Ali picked it too!

Rounding out the outfit, some Cindy Smith Bracelets. Katie says they are “the perfect touch” and I could not agree more.  I love the fall colors in this look. Greens, tans, browns, yellows and just a hint of pink. This is the prefect outfit to wear to the next football game or watch party for sure.

Wear It: We Owned The Night

As we told you earlier in the week, Lady Antebellum has a new album out and we thought we’d feature one of their videos in our Wear It series. I’m going to focus specifically on Hillary Scott’s outfit in this video.

She’s wearing a blouse-y type of top with a 3/4 length sleeve and at a certain point in the video falls off her shoulder a bit, along with skinny jeans. Here’s how I’d do it, Langston’s style:

Ariat Women’s Cerres Lace Shirred Top – Wine Berry
Levi’s 524 Women’s Skinny Jeans – Black Pressed
Lane Boots Women’s ‘Wild Ginger’ Cowboy Boots – Black

I love the length of the sleeve on this Ariat top and definitely love the color of it. I’d go with black jeans and these Lane Boots…that stitching pulls the top and jeans together perfectly.

Lady Antebellum’s 3rd album comes out today, Own the Night. I’m a big Lady Antebellum fan and have been waiting for something new from them! I think the unique thing about Lady Antebellum is how lead vocals switch up from song to song between Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley.

Charles has stated in the past to GAC:

“Having the two lead vocals there can take people into different journeys. And I think there are people who are just naturally gonna gravitate to her voice that aren’t gonna gravitate to mine, and vice versa. And then on top of it, you’ve got this harmony potential, with Dave. When we mix the record, we don’t even realize how important the three-part harmony is until it’s not there. In the mix, they sometimes tend to blend in together, these two men’s voices. But it warms it up so much. If there was one little piece of the puzzle that wasn’t there on anything, or if his voice was too high or vice versa? We definitely feel very fortunate that we found each other and it all happened.”

I couldn’t agree more, different vocals lead to different journeys for people. Hopefully with Own the Night we have a ton more journeys with them.

Here are my favorites off the album so far: The current release “Just A Kiss”, “Cold As Stone”, “As You Turn Away”.

Back by popular demand…our employee picks.

Up this week is Sarah.

Sarah said that she chose this necklace  because “it’s so cute! I love the different charms and the pink and silver tone.” Cindy Smith necklaces range from simple and everyday to beautiful statement pieces like this one. This Silver Tone and Pink Chain Cross Charm Necklace comes in a set with matching earrings.  

Sarah choose this Southern Thread T-shirt, “because of the color and the design on the front and back.” Personally, I think the slight rip in this shirt gives it a unique edge to it.

As far as her jean pick, “I like the fit and color of these jeans, super comfortable.” The Sofia Jean by Lucky Brand is a bot cut jean with a low rise and a relaxed fit. The color, Ol Oak, is perfect for Fall.

When asked about the boots, Sarah said, “the boot is just a basic black to bring out the black in the shirt.” Her pick was the Mistie by Dan Post. It is a 13″ black boot that goes with almost anything and everything.

Turns out America loves them some country music because the final two were Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery with Scotty winning. “Love You This Big” is Scotty’s first single and video out since his win and he’s definitely country through and through. Blake Shelton’s Cutting Footloose

By now I would imagine you’ve heard that a remake of Footloose is coming out soon right? It’s starring Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars) and Kenny Wormald. But have you heard this part….BLAKE SHELTON IS SINGING FOOTLOOSE ON THE SOUNDTRACK!! That’s right folks, same great music, new peeps singing and Blake Shelton was the lucky guy to sing the title track. I’ve checked it out and its actually pretty darn good. Have a listen…

Smile Pockets

Pockets that make you happy? I’m kidding, they are much more than that, but they do make me happy. Smile pockets are the curved pockets usually found on western shirts that have piping on them that comes up to a point. What is piping you ask? It is the raised string like material that is used as detail on shirts. Do you know all these terms? What about saddle stitching and western yoke? Today is a big day folks. It’s the new release from King George. I’m talking about George Strait of course! His new album is called Here for a Good Time and it’s out today!

On this new album, George co-wrote 7 of the 11 songs. He co-wrote with his son Bubba and writing partner Dean Dillon. And he also co-produced with producer Tony Brown. This is George’s 39th studio album and his latest single, the title track, Here for a Good Time is his 89th career single.

Aside from the title track, these are the songs I would definitely check out if I were you: “Drinkin’ Man”, “Shame On Me”, “I’ll Always Remember You”.

Dude still has it. Dude is still sexy. Dude can SANG.
