Wedding Boots

On Valentine’s Day we posted about giving Simon a pair of boots for his wedding as part of the Social Media wedding project.

Here is another sweet picture of Simon and his son.

For more about this adorable family, visit A Girl and A Boy. Now…about the boots. Want to know which kind he picked? I think you do. Want to know why? Because we will host a giveaway in a few months of the same brand! What is that brand you ask?

Corral boots. He chose these with the Teju Lizard inlay.

Be sure to check back here (and FB/Twitter) so you can enter the giveaway when it is posted! The winner will get to pick which Corral Boot they want. Details to follow.

Employee Picks – Week 2

Next up in our series of outfits chosen by our employees, George. George is a refined cowboy who looks for quality pieces that will last. According to George, “Brown’s my color.” He picked the belt and boots to match, and chose the wash on the jeans because, according to him, “on Darker Skin the Medium Stonewash jeans brings out my color.” Good tip!

The details…

The Master Hatters 6X “Westerner” Hat, the subtleness of the silver and gold colored buckle makes this hat very versatile. It can be paired with pretty much anything!

George paired it with a Miller Ranch Check Button Down, this is brand has come to be known as the gold standard in quality in the western industry.

To complement the classic shirt, George chose a more detailed belt. This belt from the San Juan Collection by Ariat is detailed with southwest designs, scrollwork and lacing. Speaking of classic, you can’t go wrong with these Stetson Jeans. The Men’s 1120 Slim Fit Straight Leg Jean in Classic Stone is a wardrobe staple.  They have the fit and they have the quality. It’s a win win situation.

Lastly the boots, the Men’s Punchy 13″ Tan Distressed Vintage Goat Boot by Justin is by far one of my favorite boots. I was so happy to see it in George’s picks this week.  The Justin JFlex design is made for comfort, you don’t have to worry about all day wear in these.

Thanks George for some great picks this week!

March Style Watch

The March 2011 People Magazine Style Watch has in it several items we carry. If they aren’t already staples in your wardrobe, now is the time to add them!

Cargo pants, like these by Levi’s, are great paired with hells, flats or sandals.

The magazine shows Reese Witherspoon rocking a denim jacket similar to this Levi’s Juniors Cropped Jean Jacket. She pairs it with dresses, skirts and pants. It works over almost anything. Try this Women’s Trucker Jacketversion for a slightly longer look, or this one by Lucky Brand for a more distressed finish.

As far as jeans…straight, skinny, cuffed and flare are all go to looks.

No Tweets

I have been wondering for a while now where Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert had gone. They were my go to for amusing tweets, but lately…no tweets. Or at least very few. I’m a little late to the party in actually figuring out why…but last week I stumbled upon my answer on NashvilleGab. Apparently they just got sick of it….and they also thought that maybe they were tweeting while drinking too much. Certainly can be a dangerous thing to do! Read the article here.
