Country Stars at the Golden Globes

A couple of our absolute favorite country artists were walking the red carpet last night at the Golden Globes.  They looked especially snazzy.  Carrie Underwood was in a Badgley Mischka gown.  Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban were both in Prada.

Carrie Underwood was nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture for her co-written song “There’s A Place For Us” from the film “Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Keith Urban was there to support wife, Nicole Kidman on her Best Actress nomination for Rabbit Hole.

Busy Weekend in OKC

It was a big weekend for country music and rodeo fans. The IFR was in town, as were George Strait and Reba McEntire.

Sadly, I missed all of it. I heard both were packed full of entertainment. Did you go to either?

By the way…I think George might be sporting one of his own shirts…looks pretty close to this one (Wrangler Men’s George Strait Long Sleeve Plaid Button Down Navy/Gold) don’t you think?

Looks like Thursday on the Biography channel is our lucky day!  Lots of country artists are featured.  In addition to that, Oprah is running shows about her trip to Australia this week and we get to see Keith Urban on her show on Friday!  What are you most looking forward to watching?

  • Darius Rucker is performing on The Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday, 1/19.
  • Biography is showcasing LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson on Thursday, 1/20.
  • Keith Urban will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, 1/21.

Country Strong

I haven’t seen the movie yet…have you? I asked around some and got mixed reviews. One friend told me that although it may not be the best movie out there, the music saved it. She sighted this scene as one of the best.

Another friend said in addition to the music, the “eye candy” saved it. All in all, these reviews aren’t making me run to the theater, but it will go on my Netflix list.
