Do you guys make resolutions for the new year? A list of goals maybe? We have a few…

In 2011 we will try and bring you more great giveaways through partnerships with unique and fun blogs. We will continue to keep you up to date on all sales, giveaways, specials, news, events and random things on our Facebook page, through our Twitter feed and on this here Blog. And of course we will continue to strive for excellence in our customer service and product offerings.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2011

The articles predicting new trends are as plentiful as those recapping the past decade. I’ve read a lot that talks about “artful” denim…so I think these detailed pocket jeans will fit the bill. All the Rock and Roll Cowgirl jeans in fact!

Another trend that is sure to be seen in 2011…skirts and shorts. Here are a few to give you a jump start on your wardrobe…

A decade in fashion

This past decade has been filled with denim. Low rise jeans came into fashion, and even high rise jeans had their day. Boyfriend jeans, denim on denim, skinny jeans and jeggings were all trends. Which were your favorite? Which ones do you want to bid farewell to and which can stick around in 2011?

I won’t make it all Winter without my skinny jeans and jeggings…so I am keeping those around. And Spring/Summer beg for boyfriend jeans. I’m not one to ever let any denim go easily…so I think I’ll hang onto all of them for now! What about you?

  • Robert Earl Keen, Merry Christmas from the Family-If you haven’t heard of Robert Earl Keen you need to familiarize yourself immediately. He’s known as “Texas Country” but really I think everyone knows someone like these people he sings about in Merry Christmas from the Family. Check it out, this is one of my favorite Christmas songs ever.
  • Faith Hill, A Baby Changes Everything-In sharp contrast to REK’s Christmas song, my next fav is Faith Hill’s A Baby Changes Everything. Great song. Enough said.
  • Dolly Parton, Hard Candy Christmas-An oldie but goodie!!
  • George Strait, Merry Christmas Strait to You-At my first job, the owner used to play this album over and over and over again during the holidays.  This song definitely stuck with me.
  • Lee Ann Womack, Baby, It’s Cold Outside-This features Harry Connick Jr and its by far my favorite version of this song I’ve heard. Love it!
  • Toby Keith, Please Come Home for Christmas-LOVE this version. I think it must be his country twang.
  • Martina McBride-Hark! The Herald Angels Sing-Nobody can belt it like Martina.
  • George Strait, There’s a New Kid in Town-see above, #4. Ditto.
  • Lee Ann Womack, The Season for Romance-I’m definitely a huge classic Christmas song person but this original song is definitely a fav of mine. I’m a sucker for romance so…
  • Martina McBride, O Holy Night-Martina. Belts. It.  Like I said.

    The 2010 lists are starting to pop up everywhere. On every trend list I’ve seen, denim leggings, or Jeggings, make the cut. They came in 2010 and are here to stay through 2011. Do you own any yet? If not, now is the time to get on board! They dress up or down. You can rock them with heels, or wear them inside of boots.  I love this look myself and for all the ladies….but as far as men rocking them….umm….

    We have a few holiday programs this week featuring a few of our favorite country artists. Check for repeat performances on CMT and GAC running this week…for example if you’ve never seen Faith Hill’s Joy to the World special from 2008 it’s a must see!

    • Jimmy Wayne talks about his teenage years in foster care on CBS’ A Home for the Holidays.
    • Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade on 12/25 features a performance by Darius Rucker.
